    Going Shopping

My Licence (finally) arrived today so I will be going shopping tomorrow. Looking for a 22lr to start with to use at the local (Waitakere) indoor range so need a 22lr and subsonic ammo.

At this stage I'm leaning towards either a Browning T- Bolt or CZ512 or CZ455, subject to what I like the best on the day.

Future plans include a shotgun for skeet shooting and a nice rifle later on probably 223 to shoot at the Deerstalkers range, unsure what to go for at this stage.

Reloaders in Onehunga or Hunting & Fishing out West. Serious Shooters have good stuff but can be pricey, and if you walk into GunCity chances are you'll walk out with a SKS rather than the 22 you're after

Get a gun, learn to shoot well, and safely, then buy all the toys you need.

Yeah Reloaders and Serious Shooters were top of my list, I've never been to SAI so might have a look while I'm out that way. I DO like the cage in Serious Shooters, I visited them and Gun City a couple of months ago when I was passing through the area. Hunting & Fishing out west is not far from my place so I will now start there, thanks for pointing them out to me.

I looked up Wills Hunting and it looks like they are in kumeu, I will have to check them out one day as well, thanks.

So the day didn't go as planned, it kinda got turned on its head and had to sort some other stuff out first but all worked out in the end. I had to get to South Auckland first but poked my head in to Hunting and Fishing on the way, their stock was more than I expected and its good to know there is somewhere local for bits & pieces as well.
I had intended to start at Reloaders but ended up working my way back from the south so went to Serious Shooters first, I love that gun room, they have got a winner there. After trying pretty much everything the had I settled on a CZ455 Varmint 22lr, I thought the Browning's trigger was nicer but not by much and liked everything else about the CZ better, the Lithgow gets an honourable mention as well, also liked the Ruger American but it lacked the substance of the CZ. I couldn't see the point of visiting the other stores after I had already purchased a gun.
They were low on stock for scopes in the range I was after so they are getting some in for me to check out tomorrow, I will pick the gun up then.

Thanks for everyone's input and advice.

In Huapai. I pas it twice a day and have been in a few times to spend money.

Just got a 2Nd hand cz455 in 22lr, love it so far. Doesnt even compare to a 10/22 for accracy. Sadly i've only had it out to 30m. Will have to change that at some point
