I almost bought one, till i worked out it wont fit on the majority of rifles unless they are very short LOP and you are using a pic rail. They are very short, to the point where you couldnt mount one to a rem700 short action using some talleys.
Had a look through one at the Sika show. Was looking at getting one because they are very light and compact for a ffp and has illumination. However, as mentioned their very short mounting length and objective diameter makes mounting tricky unless you use a rail. I believe Friwi is currently putting one of these through its paces.
Ok , so I have one, and it is still in its box as my intention was to mount it on an Howa mini.
The plus: short compact and one of the lightest ffp for its Magnificat power available on the market, zero stop, positive clicks, and a double turn indicator, illumination is a little cross in the middle, which lots of people seem to like.
The negatives: there are no shut off between each graduation as you increase the intensity, so it is almost all or nothing other wise you will drain that battery a bit quicker. But that is not a biggie. The reticule is really not flash, very thin and no reference numbers on the vertical grid at least. So if you want to compensate for trajectory using the grid numbers, you have to count your graduations from the center… which takes time . And by the time you finish counting your animal might be gone.
But the biggest negative is the eye relief. To have the scope properly mounted for your eye, the front objective has to be above the front bridge on an howa mini. The only way to get away with that is to have it mounted reasonably high, or such that the front objective completely clears the top of your picatinny rail . It will be the same issue with a tikka or a remington. As long as you are happy with that , then it is not an issue. But for those who like their scope low near the top of their barrel, forget about it, you will not achieve this. With this scope.

I personally will write to gpo to tell them about the improvement they can do on the reticle, illumination and maybe the eye relief but I haven’t got to much hope on that last part.they are probably targeting people in the USA market who would put it on their ar10/ar15 as a DMR scope ( designated marksman rifle in a company or a platoon). So they don t care so much if it is mounted a bit high.
Dang. I thought it might mount up "properly" on a mini type action.
Try the 4-16 Arken scope imported by Ken (55six). It is pretty much as good, almost half the price and will mount properly on your rifle.

Yeah I lookedat oneand the eye relife is very very short. Might be ok on a 223 but can imajine scope eye being a problem.
You are talking about the arken or the gpo regarding that short eye relief? ( I own both)
Attachment 268726 I really like mine, its compact and light, but man, is it short! Fits perfectly on my 6x45 build on a Howa mini.
I would suggest to fit it on medium or high rings

Also, looking at Jaco s rifle, I think I would have to strech my neck quite a bit to look all that way through mine if mine was installed like that on my howa mini .
I have a Meopta Optika 3-18 FFP with that ring style reticle, it's a really nice scope, but the reticle is not that great for hunting . . .,.
A mate has the same meopta and quite like it.
I also have the bushnell LRHS with a similar type of reticle and I quite like it.
You sure? I dont see an SFP super compact or an mrad super compact which Jacos is clearly both your link is to an entirely different scope. I think his is the Mil Reticle like yours which is different to what their website actually shows. The horse shoe reticles are horrid for precision. They ruin the most useful part of the windage holds and block a lot of the target. Fine for there intended use but I hate them.
@Jaco Goosen Does yours have the actual mRad values in the reticle and which bit iluminates?
I am not sure about Jaco reticle, only him can say. Yes there is an sfp super compact. I m not sure if they have their website entirely right.But I m sure of mine. And I own 6 ffp scopes.

Hi Stocky, no offence taken at all. Give a call to Kelly country and speak to Karen. I am sure she also had a compact sfp in stock when I bought my ffp.
