GRS stocks, bottom metals, and DBM's

I've got a couple of short action Remingtons which each sit in a chassis and have never had a factory stock for one. I'm now looking at getting a GRS laminate stock. They inlet them for the BDL version and I presume that implies they're going to accept a standard floorplate/trigger guard?

I don't have one of those - but I do have some AICS pattern 308 mags. So I'm guessing it's a matter of getting a DBM conversion and dropping it into the stock. Does anyone know which one to get that requires the least amount of inletting?

Atlasworxs do one which they reckon requires minimal inletting

The Elite Series requires a lot less inletting having the same footprint as the standard BDL , which means only minor inletting required.

That'll be the one to get. Hopefully I can find one over here so I don't need to get an import permit.

I was looking the other day and I think Hardy had them in stock - just checked now and it seems I remembered correctly.

Figures. Looks like that's what they use for their Hybrids. Cheers.

    Hi GRS owners,

Has anyone seen a pic rail get installed on a laminate stock?

I’ve got the GRS sporter and would prefer to run my atlas instead of the knock off harris. Drilling into the laminate to install T nuts would be fine however I would be going with the grain of the laminate and that close to the tip I can see it splitting.

I’ve found the current sling stud swivel is actually just a wood screw so I can’t just tap into that either as there is no metal thread installed inside the forend.

Anyone used wood screws and epoxy? Would it stand up to loading the bipod on a magnum?

Maybe I’ve just convinced myself to buy a legit Harris.

    For the internets future reference

I got one of these Caldwell adapters from delta mike. Looks mint on the stock and has zero movement in it.

I had previously tried the acculongrange adapter but they look terrible and because the attachment point is on the shooter end of the rail it pulls away from the stock and creates movement when the bipod is loaded.
