First rifle purchase. Howa 1500 .308. Scoped. Picked it up for $1300. Want to add suppressor. Newbie so keen to hear recommendations! Threaded. First blood last weekend, did the damage on a big old Billy and a nanny across a gully. pretty happy for my first. Name: 20250326_110822.jpg

Howas are accuraterifles for the money, I’m sure you’ll be very happy with it!

My howas are both 1/2x20 thread (which yours should be!) - however someone mentioned the latest batch are potentially m14x1 but haven’t seen one yet! make sure it’s a 30cal suppressor!

Nothing wrong with a 308 as yr 1st,I had a mossburg 308 package deal $750, 20yrs ago.Shot 100s of roos and deer with it,that rifle still working today.Forum members son on here still uses it tipping deer over.
Your Howa 1500 will do you for a few years, enjoy.Oh set yr scope 2inchs high at a hundy, that will be good for 240yds,point and shoot. With what ever 308 ammo you use.

Latest purchase was this Winchester 94 deluxe, yet to fire a round out of it. Hopefully get it zeroed and knock over a roaring red before they shut up shop

Rebuilt this sportered K98 recently, first with a postwar yugo stock. Had my eye on this final piece of the puzzle -an original WW2 laminated stock. Thanks to Heath on here who got me the deal. Not pretty but now feels like it has that history to it.

Haven't done load development, but shoots my hand loads (165gn btsp) from the previous howa into under 1" 5 shot groups fairly consistently.
