I use them in my Tikka 300WM as well and they are pretty detructive ( Ballistic Tip more so than the Accubond) but they put the animals down quick. I remember years ago when I had my BAR 30 06 and using 150 gr Ballistic Tips. I shot a good size (110 kg gutted )stag about this time of year and had a hell of a job to keep him down. The impact would flatten him but he kept getting up but after the fourth round he stayed down. It put me off the 150 gr but the 180gr are a different kettle of fish, much much better. Supposed to still open up at 1800 fps so at my velocity of 2827 that should be about 700 yds from memory.

I got told years ago by a pro shooter, 'Treat a Ruger bolt action like a woman. Firm but gentle'. Not PC,but I had a few misfeeds and that solved the problem.

The Ruger Hawkeye in walnut /blue is in my opinion, one of the best traditional looking rifles on the market.
Nice slim well shaped stock most walnut ones I've seen are ok wood.

I love the M77 action, not as slick as some new rifles but it has that positive feel of a Mauser action. I don't really care for the Ruger American actions, I've sold a few and my mate has one but they just aren't as classy

Bought this 10/22 Wood/Stainless Ruger about 2 months ago. Nice little rabbit and hare shooter. Very quiet with the supressor and subsonics!

You are right tommygun the M77 is a classier action but the American action appears to be solid enough and runs pretty smooth, for a budget rifle I like it.

Just sitting watching TV and wishing this 1941 K98 all matching numbers and sling could talk. I love the history these pieces hold.

42 stamped on the front ring? The Portuguese contract guns are meant to be the high water mark of the Kar98's.

Portugal didn't need 'em but Germany sure did. That's a great piece Tikka7mm08. I have my own 1944 byf (non-matching) next to me as I type this also wondering what stories it could tell. Situation for the home country was a lot different in '44.

They are all 41! The ones held back got waffen stamped and out into service. From memory.
