Sounds like we have a plan. I'm handy enough on the soldering iron.

Man I'm looking forward to this trip again. I can talk shit even when I'm sober. I have no idea what I do when I'm not.

[QUOTE=hotsoup;642978]Here is my Sako 85 243AI that I had originally picked up off @buzzman. This is the first Sako 85 mould made by South Fort Labs (Kiwi Composites) on display at Sika show this year.

Very impressed with the finish. Currently a work in progress, I have a Swaro Z5 to slap on it + will get it cerakoted. Fun times.

Many months down the track I sold it. There was nothing wrong with it but had I known that you can only get 10 or 25 round mags I would never have got it.

For our ipsc mini rifle shoots we are putting on a 15 round mag limit as many members do not have an e-cat. So I had to look at something he could use with 15 round mags given that he cannot get his firearms license let alone an ecat to use 25 round mags with only 15 in them. 10 would not have been competitive as he would have had to do an extra mag change often.

So I put the same stock that fits him an an aero upper/lower with a dedicated cmmg barrel and bolt. Made a CF hand guard to keep the weight down and bought half a dozen black dog 10 rounders and converted them to 15.

I was worried about the weight but there is really no issue. Maybe the M&P would be a faster at transitions for speed steel but he is doing really well with the heavier rifle as it is.
