who did the metalwork freezer?
should shoot black powder then will make it much nicer to shoot had to give my baby back to its owner today but pleasure having it for the last 2 years thanks @Barefoot
You've looked after it better than I would have @rambo-6mmrem.
I just sent an email off to order an adjustable aperture rear eye piece which should make it more useable for hunting for me :)
yep that balistol oil is wonderful stuff I clean the gun and that stuff removes any left over traces of salt and preserves the rifle wonderfully wont use anything else on smokeless or black powder guns its the best oil
Forbes 20b in 308win

Currently throwing 110 TTSX's out at a lazy 2730fps (lol) but @ 0.4" group. Had to sell 2 rifles and a scope to get this one.
Nice rifle Timmay. Shot a deer with the new load? How long is the barrel?
Thanks mate, Went for a walk yesterday morning but didn't see anything - was sleeting so I'm not really surprised - Barrel is 19". I've smacked over plenty of deer (20+) with a slower load in my 6.5x55 so have no concerns with its ability to kill.
I'm only running 40gns of ADI 2219. Heaps of room to stoke it up.
nah 120gn soft point Pro Hunter @ 2600 fps - That one smacking the gong nicely at 400 yards in the wind.
These TTSX's will open down to 1800fps so "good" to 300m - In reality it won't see any action past 50m.
This rifle is way nicer than my Tikka haha
Shopping around for a VX6 1-6x24 ATM, looks like Outdoor supplies has the best price.
edit; I'm not 100% concerned about weight, I went to the Forbes because I wanted something different but nice (ie not a sako) I wanted short action, good trigger, its a timney on the forbes - this is the best trigger I've ever used and It needed to be 08 case based for possible conversion later to 6.5x47L or 6.5CM. Throw in the super bloody nice stock which is slim and fitting + has a cheek piece and I was sold - I also think the black receiver and stainless barrel is sexy.
6.5x47 on a Barnard P. Upped the porn level with a more seductive background than the usual dirt, grass, concrete.

Well a couple of weeks ago I fell into some cash as a mate had spotted a couple of fishing poles of mine that he wanted to look after at his place...
As happens the cash pretty soon fell out of my pocket and was replaced by a Volquartsen 22 in my safe... Pretty nice although everyone keeps saying I've gone over to the darkside now.... whatever that means??
Anyhow very happy will be flicking on the glass as I pull the Vortex off the Tikka and the great optic swap begins again...
And Two weeks later @BRADS puts up a spanking good 260 for sale.... arrrghh obviously I need to check in with him every time I go to buy something..
here's a wee shot

Stunning toy @Carpe Diem, if it shoot the same as the great look it has you got a WINNER!
Congrats!
Mac
What the fuck were you thinking Carpe Diem? You could have shouted Scouser and I a beer with that dosh in your hand.
A braked 22, Toby will be proud
Was wondering when that would make an appearance :) and it shoots as good as it looks as well
Thanks Mac - being in Auckland it's probably a bit more practical that yet another centrefire. Was a bit of a steal really was going to buy it just for the B&C odyssey stock - the rest was bonus, but a very nice one now to bed it put a rear tang on and replace the 2lb volquartsen trigger for a Kidd. 2 stage - Then if the test boxes I've put through it are any guide it should be a even tighter ragged single hole.
Few teething issues with extraction from the match chamber but we have a plan for that...

I cant beleve im saying this, but that red looks really good
Poacher, smart arse, no it is an upside down scope mount with thread for camera, but.......spotlight mount also fits on behind it perfect.
Stock is standard T3 stock and has been hydro dipped by caveman in Hamilton
Have a walnut dipped stock too

At your place Hamish, real wood is getting to be just a poor imitation of plastic :)
