Yeah, Texas..... where Open Carry is legal and the State says you can use lethal force on just about everything.

I must say, it is interesting to see a totally different take on arms than what we have in NZ.
Love the mannlicher/stutzens! Amazing feel to em!
We have a few oversea members, and I'm guess more that a few here would visit overseas forums.
WWW you see.
It is often interesting as shearer says above to get outside opinions and a glimpse at other lifestyles
F class rifle
LR bunny gun for Otago
Thrasher 22lr for possum nights off the quad
Tops rifle
Bush pig 308
44 mag bail gun
If we all liked exactly the same thing and saw everything the same way we'd have nothing to talk about. I don't have truck guns and CCW pistols and all that stuff, because I live in NZ. However, I didn't always live here, and have lived in places where these things are valid considerations on a day to day basis. I don't like it either, because it's a not a nice thing to have to do - that's why I live here in the best place in the world. Living in NZ where you only have different rifles for different game/places/sports is a wonderful thing mate.

You're and idiot if you don't think people that wish to restrict our ownership of firearms in NZ don't browse these forums for "ammunition".

Mate, chill out
The former is not exclusive of the later.
Like I said, It's just my opinion.
Your an idiot if you think that someone clearly posting from the other side of the planet on a toys thread will impede your privileges. I'm on more than one website, and the ones based overseas never call me out because where I am and what I do don't match what they are up to, because it's rude. Jumping up and down every time this guy posts something which is perfectly fine and normal and legal where he is, gets old. He only really posts on the toys thread, he's always really polite, and he has interesting shit. Isn't that the point of all this?
"every time he posts" you will have to do better than that.
When have I attacked his character? I'll wait for your reply.
Edit: @Tommy
Correction, not you but there is a lot of whinging when he posts, from a few people. We don't go spastic about P38 wanting a bloody enormous revolver, military pattern rifles, full auto ww2 german machine guns etc. Just old mate Miami when he posts a picture, cos he (eeeek) keeps it in his truck.
What, you want me to find examples of him not being polite, to prove the point you're trying to make, when I've said that he is? Eh?Quote:
he's always really polite
My point was: chill out, live and let live, and if you don't like someone's hobby and it doesn't affect you in any way apart from there being some inoffensive pictures on a thread on the internet, ignore it. Standing up, pointing and saying "I don't like this", waiting for another "My god will you look at this maniac getting his harmless kicks" deluge does what?
Righto, moving on.
I had an issue with his politically themed posts. They have stopped, thank you Miami.
As for the display of US gun culture. I don't like it either but he's not breaking the rules this forum was founded on. I can see why his country men kill each other daily with the mentality shared here though. I often don't lock my house when I leave, and I sleep in summer with lots of windows open. Long may that last - I love you NZ.
Not the best photo with the lighting at this time of night, but I'm excited. This is my first centrefire rifle.

There are many like it, but this one is mine. People will likely say I've made a bad choice for a hunting rifle, to those people I say "Go away, I'm having fun and not hurting anyone." :P
I'll take glamour shots at a later date.
Won't be your last though, your hooked now.:)

Not against the law in Florida. We have this thing called constitutional rights. With it we can make our own choices. I don't need government permission. I can either live in a free society with certain inherent risks or I ca live in a secure society with no rights/freedoms.
I like my freedom. My family fled a place where others told them what they can and can't do. Screw that.
Needs more 20rd Mags and wood. M1As are fun rifles. Bought one as a gift for my old man. It was the Scout Squad Model, 18 inch barrel with the front railed scope mount. It likes it more than the AR pattern rifles. He keeps it as his HD piece. He's still in Miami and looting after Hurricanes is common. He's also 30+ year retired Homicide Detective and worked during the 80s Drug Wars.
Wood Splitting gun.
Actually being able to hit anything with a Snider is an achivement

Mind you I'm also carrying something on my hip and the wife keeps her G42 on her too
20rd mags just seems like extra weight to carry. I'd like to get a 10rd (pinned to 7) for appearance/ease of handling purposes, but that's low priority, coming after a nice DPT suppressor and maybe an optic upgrade. I like the look of wood, but seamlessly filling the selector hole on a USGI stock is easier on fibreglass. If home defense were a concern for me, I think I'd prefer something in .223. From what I've read, it's about the least likely to cause overpenetration chaos. Short barrel .308 seems like it would risk blinding/deafening the defender as well.
The aforementioned USGI stock, after some sanding and filling, before painting.
