wow and you've got 3 of them
Happy with this even though it is not mine.
Got it for my 11 year old to start shooting in ipsc mini rifle. I went for the AR platform as thats what he will be shooting in a handful of years for competition anyway.
I have to say that the S&W 15-22 is perfect for smaller people, very light, and that AIL stock is also very good. Of course my son, not being able to get an E-cat or even a firearms license yet there are very few options around for stocks that you can fit to a small person. This AIL fits the bill as LOP goes down to about 270mm.
The only iffy thing is that cheap knockoff sight I put on hoping that 22lr wouldnt rattle it to bits. From the net, seems like a reasonable chance it will be OK on a 22.
Photo is not so hot but was struggling to find a place to put it with a bit of light. Light behind it is not the best though!
Best thing though, the boy can come out and shoot with me now.

@MaW please let us know how it goes, I think I need to show that to my son... :)
Will do, I am going to give it the first rounds at an indoor range this week to get it sighted in.

Me with a Shrike
In words of one syllable, explain to me as if I was a child of seven how that cycles. Note, I am intimately familiar with the M60 and GPMG (or at least I was 40 odd years ago).

Dedicated top-opening, piston driven upper.
Belt feeding musket balls would have been advantageous as well😆

Marlin 45/70G arrived yesterday . . . cheers tikka
Attachment 68892
it will be getting the same treatment as the .30/30 above - 45MOA base, 30mm Burris rings with inserts, mk4 3.5-10 mildot and a suppressor
using 405grn. bullets ( bought the mold 10 years ago with this in mind ) energy will be more at +600yds than the .30/30 at the muzzle ( 197grn subsonic ) . . . penetration is measured in feet.
this will be my subsonic heavy hitter . . . only one small problem, money to make it happen, might take more than i want but on the plus side the bones of the project are there now, i need a 3rd job

Colt 1911 Series 70.
My first 1911 in 9mm.I loaded up some 147grn rounds and it biffed them through the target sideways.Hope things improve with the 115 and 124grn projectiles I bought.
Its no Sig P210,but the fit and finnish is pretty good.Attachment 69088
I would say it's complete. Very nice rifle
na need some tactiwank shit on it
This gun a is a shitter.
I have tried five different brands of Bullets, the bore looks really nice.I wonder if the Bushing is playing up or there is a nick in the crown. The only pistols that I have used that were more shit were a "Helwyn" Egyiptian copy of a Berretta and a Marakov that had probably been in a fire and then eaten by a Camel .
Try increasing your velocity. They may not be stabilizing. If you're using lead then try stepping up to .356/57/58 and see if one of those works.
Thank you
I have tried 147grns H&N Projectiles
Fiocchi 115 and 124 grn Factory fodder,124 grn Geko,124 grn Sellior and Bellot all of that was factory stuff. There are no groups, just patterns and all of those brands apart from my reloads were fired from a Randsom Rest.
I think I will try and recrown it,if no joy there I think I will get a new barrel.
Heres a thread that covers all the possibles for what's causing your tumbling. Unless the barrel is completely shot out, which it likely isn't, you should be able to sort out the issue. I reckon your gun is just fine, try stepping up bullet diameter or velocity or maybe you are putting too much crimp on your loads. Lots of info if you search and it keeps coming back to the same set of circumstances for what could be causing your problem.
CZ Shadow 2 - 147 gr tumbling - 9mm/38 Caliber - Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo!
Thank you for the link.
The 147 grn bullets are .357 and were pushed with 4.0 grn of N340 .(4.1 is the published maximum)
I guess all the factory stuff stuff was too. Fiocchi dosn't have a great name for accuracy,it groups ok in my Sig but with Geco its literally a one hole shooter.Sellior and Bellot and Geco are about equal in quality and price, its what alot of shooters are using here.
My mate is bringing some Speer cartridges and some Nato Ball.
We have removed the human error with the Randsome rest, but for not getting any groups and with a spread of about 12" with everything tried its the gun thats playing up.Looks like the crown is dinged as the fingers on the bush look good and everything else looks ok.
Being produced in the 1970's it was likely made with pretty mild 124grn cartidges in mind.
I shoot 200 gr cast bullets in my .40
I can reach power factor at 4.4 grns of N320.
I had to speed them up by .2 because I had 1 in 20 nearly keyhole. First thing I thought of was velocity. (Possible variation in powder thrown in progressive press)
I haven't had a problem since I went to 4.6 grns.
It does seem a bit odd factory ammo especially Geco, is not performing as they generally reach PF for given projectile weight in my experience.
I would try speeding your load up with a deeper seat depth first and if that doesn't work change powder.

Thank you for your advise.
I cleaned up the crown with a large Brass screw and some coarse, then fine grinding paste.Cleaned it up and went straight to a competition.
We were shooting feltstevne (feild competition) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTsngdvfexc
Didn't get one key hole, with either 147grn or 124.I did pretty well considering,I havn't had the chance to see if its still biffing bullets around but only another go in the Randsom rest will really tell.Worst case its a new barrel for $214 USD and I can live with that.
I have loaded up a few rounds at 4.1 grains of N340,thats max,so we will see how they go.
