I am always amazed at the plethora of historically significant firearms that have made their way to such a far flung and small corner of civilisation. Long may we preserve it.

You seem to have a really nice one. Do you know which factory and series? Mine is Nagoya Series 1. My Japanese collecting even inspired me to take a trip to Japan in 2017. My Series 34 was made by Toyo Kogyo in Hiroshima, which is now the car company Mazda. If you want to know, I will be able to tell you.
It's something else seeing this place in person. It feels astonishingly peaceful, the people are incredible, and you can feel the effect of the trauma to this day.
Oh... and the beer is great.

Hi yes all the details on both. I have a great book - will take a photo. Chrysanthemums intact. Went to Hiroshima in 1988 - part of school trip - and horrible to witness what occurred but understand the reasons. I can still see the steps of a bank that had the shadow of a man burnt into them...he had been instantly vapourised. Love your stuff...I haven't even seen a MAS firsthand :( - apart from the 1917 3006 are there any other WWII axis/allies bolt action rifles to look out for? My son has a WWII 3" mortar tube sitting in his bedroom...they flog most of my stuff except the rifles! They just put their names beside those. The jungle carbine is date 8/44 - pretty happy to have an early one.
PS yes there beer is pretty good, and they make cracking good whiskey...although yet again none in that collection.
If you like French stuff, how about a Berthier and Lebel? They were both used extensively in WWII. The MAS 36s are a bit challenging to find, but there are some out there. Berthiers are kind of the same deal, but I've god a good friend who's owned a few over the years.
It is so nice to see something other than the latest wizzbang carbon fibre thingee with a mt palomar strapped to the top.
This my Sako TRG M10 in .338LM :)
Greatest rifle ever.

New Greystone .223 K Suppressor and Athlon Ares BTR scope mounted up on the Tikka.
@Sasquatch here she is.

First time using the Arisaka scope level tool and it was excellent. Took about 20 seconds to get it perfectly level.
Very happy with the new additions. The scope eye box is a bit picky at 27X but as long as your comb height is good, it's excellent.
Glass is very nice, turrets were easy to set + use.
Dropped a couple of goats at 310 yds with ease at 7am....
The Greystone can is VERY quiet.
Rifle looks great @SlimySquirrel, she looks complete now :-)
Thanks...Berthier French but will need to look up which forces used the others!

Even cheaper than the fake atlas... the warehouse haha. I have been using just normal old hex keys for years then when I saw that set I thought that's a bit of me think they were $30 or so, seem pretty decent and a lot cheaper than the likes of a Teng or kingchrome set for a home tinkerer

My new Sig P-210
It's possible that there may be a 12 year old that is happier than my guy when he gets home from school but I bet he wont be much happier!
Loading for his small hands is too much to ask so his typhoon just arrived this morning.. He will shoot it at the multigun in warkworth this sunday..
I think I will have to hide a camera to catch his face when he opens it up.. I am jealous of him now.. Kind of wish I shot open just to use this...

@MaW that would make any boy/man happy to come home to!!!
@MaW I just twigged as to who you are. He's a bloody good kid
I will be interested to see if it runs well out of the box. But until its shot a thousand rounds you cant really guage its % for error ratio. Lots of variables involved with box fed shotguns.
I watched their first gun fail in a match last year. They thought they had worked out the bugs but then it started happening agin. I hope they have got it sorted now though.
Will be interesting to see the feedback on them now that the markets flooded with them. Am also hoping to see some more competition in shotgun open division now theres an affordable option available.
Open shooters. Pfftt!! Ya need to shoot manual Div to have thumbs like this[emoji16]
