My first AR was going unused as it was A-cat, so decided to Upgrade it to E-cat, and change the barrel and furniture
so now its 7.62x39 and Magpul equipped... SL mid length handguard, Miad grip and Moe stock,
apart from waiting on some 30 round mags (on back order @ Brownells) its done

Looks like I have a 270 cal barrel for my PH project so i'll be in the gang also.

I though I was importing a 280ai but somewhere along the line it morphed into this. The sender was mortified and offered to swap it but the process would have taken months and been a hassle so instead he donated a set of redding type S dies, some bullets and a box of lapua brass.:thumbsup: Shoots like a Cooper should. Functions perfectly. 24" barrel, 7lb as it sits with a vortex razor HD LH in some tier one rings.

It seems the 270 virus has spread across the Cook Straight... Everything was fine after the last Toby shoot, but ever since that damn @Philipo went south things have gone tits-up.
The northern invading force to Toby's shoot this year will have to restore the reputation of this forum and ensure that only REAL calibers of LARGER than 277 are taken across.

7mm RM for me. 270 is a castrated 30-06
The Win270 virus is a mutation of the M bovis disease and as such has some similarities. Its been here a lot longer than people thought, was first discovered in the South Island but has spread to the North, spreads by body to body contact :wtfsmilie:, many that have contracted Win270 dont realize it until the symptoms become visible and even then the stigma of the virus forces the victim to continue to deny the infection beyond the rational. The infection is embarrassing for humans but in most cases deer will survive it.
At this point there is no cure, containment has proven to be ineffective, extermination is unlikely to succeed and would prove incredibly expensive so the infected will have to lean to live with it, hopefully in isolation.
