Expoxied the rail on
Had the over sized thread protector spun down and bead blasted.
Very happy with it so far :thumbsup:

I think you will find that "epoxied the rail on" means it was epoxied AND screwed on...dumbasses

Epoxy in this case is not usually for adhesive properties, but to bed the rail to the receiver. If the fit isn't perfect, torquing the screws will bend the rail.Quote:

Bought this off @Dreamer a week or two back, T3 in 6.5x55, DPT suppressor, Southfort Labs NZ Hunter carbon stock, have just put a VX5 on it in Talleys and added Atlasworks alloy bottom metal and bolt shroud, have another alloy bolt shroud coming from Glades Armory in the states that's bare alloy colour which should finish it off nicely.

There is a bit of a story to the new scope of Beeman's. We took it out to sight it in yesterday and after about 7 shots the scope/mounts/rail fell off, much to our surprise. Back to Beeman's and we reattached the scope as we thought the screws securing the mounts to the rail hadn't been tightened at the shop.
Scope re attached we set off to check it out again, first shot the scope/ rail comes adrift again. This time we took the gear to re attach the scope so we put it back on again and fired a further 8 or so rounds getting the rifle sighted in. ( took out a 2 liter milk bottle at 400 meters so can't be to bad considering the weather we were shooting in.)
In answer to Veitnamcam question I think Mathis is right, the mounts will fit the rail but not the Sako dovetail. Currently the rifle is back at the shop to get the rail and receiver drilled and Tapped so the rail will stay put. Not nice seeing an expensive scope landing on the deck of the truck, twice.

Not sure but should be able to get enough dots ( elevation ) out to about 1100 meters, cool scope all you do is press the range finder( built in to scope) and a dot appears on your vertical crosshair along with hash marks for a 10 and 20 mph wind, the range is shown as is the remaining energy of your bullet at that range.
