Mine

I have just ordered a Midwest industries handguard for mine. The front wood is getting scratches from my bag , trees etc and I would rather keep it good condition. Hopefully might shed a little weight too...she can start feeling a bit heavy after a day bushbashing , half the reason a fitted pistol dot sight rather than a scope. Tried a scout scope for a while but being my bush gun decided it didn't really need a scope anyway.
It's not actually that bad. Can be a bit of a surprise the first time you fire one but my seventeen yr old boy shoots it ok. I have been pumping some of the 420 subs through as well and the kick on the 325 full power isn't that much more really... Maybe a bit more of a push than 3 inch shotty buckshot or solids. You soon get used to it.o
Finally scratched the subsonic centrefire itch with the availability of Hornady Sub-X rounds (I don't reload). Went for 300BLK. I was considering 45/70, but had my reasons for going down this route. Will be used as a sub-50 metre bush rifle, mainly for goats. The setup also ticks a couple of other boxes. Takedown rifle and short overall gun length. If it doesn't work out, I'll switch to supersonic rounds.
- Bergara BA13 300BLK 16.5 inch barrel
- Leupold VX-3i 1.5-5x20mm
- DPT Mini Over barrel .30cal
My first experience of subsonic centrefire. Louder than expected (!), but couldn't be heard from a 15 minute walk away. Rounds seemed quite dirty and smokey. Bipod was used just for zeroing. Typical group, squares are one inch in size. Could probably do better if I tried harder. Less than an inch difference at 10, 25 and 50 metres, so good to go!

"louder than expected.."
Your not wrong there... thought I'd try subs through my 45/70 (no suppressor) thinking it might be a little quieter...yeah right...it still rumbled up and down the valley so much so the kids have knicknamed the rifle Thor - god of thunder..! :D
I have 6 baffles instead of four on mine , it definitely help to reduce that sound a bit more.
From the current zero at 50 yards,Try to see at what distance your bullet matches the bottom of the thin center cross joining the thicker bit of your duplex reticle. It could be useful if you ever have an animal to finish at further distance .

Just got this set up and zeroed. I'm really liking it so far, its a handy little package. The mag coupler is by VTP its a little bigger than necessary but it works well. I just need to get a suppressor for it now.
Howa mini in a Ken Henderson stock standard barrel contour 20” .223 with a dpt. Just waiting for new bottom flush metal/mag to turn up. 3259g as pictured

New stick in the finest caliber known to man, she'll be getting new panties soon as I'm not a fan of the stock shape and rigidity.
Can't wait to get it sorted and begin load development.
Wears a Nikon monarch 3-12×40 bdc scope.
The dear will be lining up to be taken by such a fine piece of engineering.

Picked up my new toy last weekend... Sako vixen L461 treble
Now on the hunt for a good scope if somebody has one they would like to go to a good home?
Thinking along the lines of Kahles 2-7x36 or something similar, must be 1 inch tube. Suggestions welcome

Bergara HMR 6.5 creed for shooting some gongs
Look forward to shooting a target
Here's our whole family of Marlins. The 45/70 you may have seen in the facelift photo , my daughter's beloved 357 you can't get out of her hands with anything short of a crowbar , and my sons 30/30 XLR jm stamped.
The 357 is now wearing a standard style scope instead of scout style and a suppressor... this is an older pic.

One of three Mannlicher 1903's I picked up yesterday, I'm looking for a M1910 now !
http://i.imgur.com/21mfJSJh.jpg
6.5X54 all M1903 Mannlichers are 6.5X54 unless they have been rechambered/rebarreled, one of the others is a TD - take down & the other is a full stock Carbine to but been messed around a bit !
I can't see the photo on my computer but I see it on my phone ?
Here's another from my stable. Ruger M77 mk2 s/s with a paddle/skeleton stock in 243 . I made the wooden inserts over lockdown to replace the original plastic inserts out of plywood, coloured them with a mixture of leather dye and linseed oil and then 'varnished' them with 5 layers of superglue. They're as hard as rock now and 100 percent waterproof. Also wearing the factory sling and have the factory gun bag also. I keep considering moving it on as I rarely use it but can't bring myself to do it...

New to me but far from new, in fact I believe this is the oldest thing I own, from a bit of research this is probably 1860's vintage. 9mm pinfire, likely French.
@cameronjackwhite hey mate thats a mod7 right? Did Gunworks flute it for you? Would you get it done again?
I'm looking at getting my m7 fluted (Bolt and barrel... maybe not the bolt)
@Timmay it's a model 700 so slightly heavier. Mine was fluted up here in Hawkes Bay but have used gun works in the past. I'd do it again. Went and shot a group today and it's just as accurate as before. If you like your rifle why not?
thanks mate, yeah looks tidy.
Another of my lockdown projects. Mossberg 500a 12g shotty. Picked it up a while back...has had a hard life. Rusted barrel , receiver and barrel had been attacked by a spray can of green paint and painted in what I guess was supposed to be camo of some discription. Stock was beaten up and so on. Stripped the paint off and found the receiver all scratched through the coating. Bought a trade me picatinny rail which of course was probably chinese and though it was advertised to fit was metric threads on fittings. So drilled and retapped top to fit rail then threw on cheap $30 red dot which is remarkably good. Stripped, sanded and polished receiver. Fitted stock from my 590a1. Made and fitted hand strap on pump. Also repaired safety switch and a few other small mods. Refinished barrel. It's now 15.5 inches barrel length as the pointy end was to far gone with rust to save but internally rust free surprisingly. So now is a short handy shotty easy to point and with the window style red/green dot very fast on target.

Nice work.
Absolutely over the moon with my new build. Smithing done by Aj Carr. He truly went over and above. Sent down for a new barrel, came back with trigger lightened, bedded, and threaded with a dpt that I had no idea I was buying lol. It also feeds flawlessly.
Sako 75 280ai, proof barrel 24 inch, dpt mag can and precision platforms stock. Topped with a vx6 at the minute as my zeiss v6 didnt fit.
Also thanks to Cam at alpine. Nothings a hassle with that fella
