some more Jacinda bucks found a new
Original land pattern Brown Bess.
what is this rifle @res2
can we get a pic of the other side ?
Attachment 169039
Its a IWI Travor X95
@res2 so you used Jacindabux to buy another "prohibited" firearm... sweet! Did you get it on a P endorsement?
I assumed the Tavor was in .22LR but internet says it either 5.56 or .300 BLK.
Are you planning on using it out of a machine or for ground hunting?
Today I was culling goats & pigs in a QE2 covenant and really missing my AR... sigh.
Mid 18th Century German Jæger Rifle in ( I think) 58 Caliber.
Tidy condition, should be a good shooter.
Finally managed to pick up my 7mm rem mag. Attachment 169435
Goes nicely next to my 17hmr

Had a Crack out of my Brown Bess today.I don't have the right mold but 12 gauge slugs patched up with straps from an old pillowcase worked well enough.
The Pistol was made by Cogswell, I wasn't going to fire it but its bore is 12 so I sent a few slugs out of it over a light charge.
Newest addition to the Swiss Straight Pull Rifle Collection - the grand pappy of all those that followed....
M1889 Swiss Schmidt Rubin (and technically the only Swiss straight pull that can be called a Schmidt Rubin) made in 1893. Never refurbished, hopefully I look as good at 128 years old...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...33f40f8a4a.jpg

I picked this up a few months back and wasn’t happy with the length. It’s a Remington 700 LVSF. I had it cut down to 18” and changed the gunworks suppressor to a dpt. I also changed the ammo from H&F bulk to fiochi. One of the changes (or all of them) worked a treat. After sighting it in I shot this group. Now good to snot some wallabies and goats :)

Sunrise.....sunset and so the cycle continues :yaeh am not durnk:
I been a bit quiet on here and gave myself a bit of a reality check when I tallied up how much I had invested in rifles :wtfsmilie:
So as nice as it was to have the nice spendy ones they have made way for some nice less spendy ones.
First up a model 7 in 708 that has now been chopped to 17" fitted with a mk1 DPT suppressor.and Nikon monarch 2.5-10×40 scope sitting in talley rings.

And a christiansen arms carbon barreled howa 1500 in .223 toppee with a Nikon monarch 4-16×44.
This bad boy puts fiocchi 55gn soft points into 1/2 3 shot groups at 100 yards, not a fan of the super heavy laminate stock so that may change if something lighter shows up at the right price and time.

Just wanna say thanks to the good forum bastards that helped make both these rifles possible with the cracking deals I got on here and the help in getting them here in one way or another. You all know who you are.
Never owned a 10/22 so thought I'd give one a go. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...72f68af5b3.jpg

Enjoy and conserve your ammo
Well, after much stress (for my gun smith thank you Grant!!) finally completed the most expensive bush gun I’ve ever had built, Barnard SMS action fluted bolt, meant to be a rem 700 drop in but it’s really not that drop insh, epic true flight 12.5” ultra match fluted barrel in 338 FED, Ken Henderson stock, timney trigger, magnum OCD titanium suppressor and break topped with rail and 2-12x42 vx6hd ….

Not mine but she's on my ticket until my mate gets his endorsement. Old school West German Sig P226, I cut my teeth on CZ's but this thing is really growing on me.
@Nga nice looking rig. The 338 will be a heavy hitter. What made you go with that particular cal?
Honestly mate, it was due meat damage, so the short barrel, slow heavy pills, will be a 200-300 yard gun max and mostly 50-100 99% of the time... went for the 338 due to Barnard only doing the 308 bolt face on the SMS, I just wanted to build a KIWI made rifle to support our local economy and other than the scope and trigger I've managed that.
Nothing fancy, but it's got to a point that I'm happy with it - especially with a constrained budget!
Tikka T3x Superlight in 308, in a B&C stock. Burris Fullfield IV 3-12x44. DPT over barrel suppressor. Now just looking forward to taking it out some more!
Present to myself :)

Tikka T1x 22LR. Hoping to put it into a KRG Bravo chassis on Saturday and take it out for a shoot on Sunday.

Nothing flash or fancy, T3x in 223 18in 1-8twist. Really lovely rifle to handle and we'll balanced with the DPT suppressor. My two boys look comfortable behind it. Can't wait to get it sighted tomorrow. Will work on load development later, for now it will be 55gr.
Got this to sit neatly against my pack when my family are doing missions into the hills. Have a very active family that love the bush. Super excited.
Phil Webster in Blenheim did the work for me. Highly recommend him for any locals that want a gun smith. He makes his own suppressors as well, same style as gunworks.

Just about Pristine condition, the bore and action were coated in dried grease.
Shoots extremely well, the first 5 shots pretty much touching one another at 100m.I fired off 150 rounds first time out, best 10 shot string was 7.5 cm.
I am taking this Reindyr hunting next month.
