A lot less recoil than the 40’s and 45’s but still shoot extremely well right out to 750 and beyond
My dad and I fight over the 38 as my 45/70 while accurate as it boots like a mule with the 550gn pills
So now we have a 38 each and the 45 will only get used beyond 800 where it’s needed

Nice set up! How do you find the element scope? Have been looking at these. Do u find the reticle fine enough? Clicks solid ect..? Im not a fan of a thick reticle, the one on my Nikon is too thick for my liking.Quote:

This one was made in the last year of production, 1935 .
It was never taken into the army ( lacks SA ) instead it just has SKY ( Civil guard) stamp.
It could have been issued to a reserve who never used it, then the reserve bought it and it sat in the cupboard. All the cosmoline had turned to varnish and it took a few liters of petrol to shift it all.
Keen to see how well it shoots.
