Clear web they call it. Attachment 196477
Picked this up at the gun auction in Wgtn on the weekend. Single square bridge original Mauser from the 30's. Its had a hard life -Swiss cheesed action from old scope mounts, modified bolt handle, poorly fitted side safety and free floated forend around the barrel. But the barrel has an excellent bore (a Douglas fitted by Dinny Collings in 1968) and the bolt is smooth as they get. You'd struggle to buy the barrel & bottom metal by themselves for 250 clams which is what it cost. It's a 30-06. Nice that an old friend had worked on it too.Attachment 196645

Gave two of my rifles a wee birthday.....some have allready figured out what I'm doing with the rifle that shall never be sold...
Scored a mint unfired tikka 300wsm barrel, had Zac at North Canterbury Gunsmithing chop it to 19" and fit it.
Hope to begin load development next week. Long story short i always shot this rifle braked when it was 270wsm but after buying it back i decided to suppress it, unfortunately this ruined the balance and well you just don't chop a 270....i can always go back if I don't like it or i could fit the barrel to a tikka if one comes up cheap.....

Whilst i was there i got Zac to chop the barrel on the wee Cooey i picked up off here the other week to a more user friendly length.
I didn't give him a length i wanted it i just asked him to make it nicely balanced and he nailed it too.

Scope mounted up on this thing today so I can continue load development. Bit of buyers remorse to be honest with the scope they are actually very nice for the money surprisingly nice glass, great turret and zero stop system, great reticle and build quality is good, yet to dial it (I’d get outside and shoot my ladder if it would stop bloody snowing!) but it’s just to big and unwieldy for a nice light pointy rifle

@Ryan_Songhurst I have come to the exact same conclusion with regards to the Burris HD. I can add that mine dialled spot on though. I just find it a bit too chunky but at the same time a wee bit reluctant to sell it because of all the other great features.
Yeap I’ll probably flick it on if something I want pops up or keep it for a gong gun or something be perfect for that . Really struggling to find another Z3 in 3-10x42 or 3-9x36, there’s few places with them listed but phone calls lead to being out of stock. Place reasonably local has one of the Meopta MeoPro 3-9x42 with BDC reticle which I’ve been tempted by, beautiful glass

If the weather plays ball, I’ll be sighting in my overscoped Kimber in the morning. Still under 7lb as pictured.

Nice rig, what cal? Man I’ve fallen in love with Kimbers now they seem to be past that “Kimber Lottery” stage they went through and build accurate guns. Best action out there for a lightweight hunting rifle in my opinion, actually scaled not just lengthways but width also to produce a light but strong action, great triggers, controlled round feed, swing safety, great build quality and machining, nice stocks that handle well. They just don’t get better
I must be a lucky man then
Life is hanging from a thread which is in the hands of Immigration NZ but that doesn't stop me from picking up guns where-ever how-ever I can. I love Diana52s. Picked this one from a friend who has moved to dark side (PCPs) and think of springers as obsolete tech. Good for me. Presenting Diana 52 .177 T05
I f you find a Meopta MeoPro scope, buy it! Still one of my favorites and since Meopta replaced them they are selling for more than their original retail price. Worth every penny! It's one of those items, if you think about it to long, someone else will snatch it out from under you.
What caliber and what trigger @veitnamcam ?
Maybe I can help creating some space in your safe ;) If and when I am there :D
Though these are best suited for .22 but I guess we can shoot heavy. .177s. I plan to do some testing with various heavy pellets next month. This is my 3rd 52, previous 2 were .22. I guess apart from HW80 this is the best springer one can buy to shoot .22s.
I plan to bring my .22 to NZ. Lets see if I am able to do that. Best of luck for your mate for new house and FAL renewal.
My new baby! It's new to me; not new.... A BSA 1916 .303 SHTLE III* (FTR) Rifle; now sporting a Nikon 3-9x scope! Going to be so cool hunting with 106-year old rifle!

@Inder What's involved in obtaining a firearm licence in India?
Political connections, few medals at national levels, some greased palms one or all of it depending on state and district you are in. Some states specially. border states are pretty liberal in granting licenses. British Raj left a legacy in INDIA called babus (Govt services officers), many of them have no exposure to guns and they are the ones who decide on licenses so it gets a pretty interesting.
Apart from that we have a whole generation growing up with no knowledge about hunting, guns etc. Whole freaking country is turning greenie. Recently we had our .22 airguns put on to Licenses and limits of guns on one license reduced to 2 from 3. Its pretty effed-up here ..
Sorry looks like I went on a bit of rant :)

very unusual scope mounting ststem.....guess it is very robust as nothing poking out front to get bent, unusaul all the same, cant say Ive ever seen front ring like that before. beautiful rifle, hope it serves you well...the deer in front of it will surely drop just seeing the gaping muzzle.
Its a quick detachable claw mount system. I don't know if all claw mounts are 'quick detach' but this one is. It unclips at the rear mount, and tilts forward 45 degrees to disengage the front claws, so Im guessing that it mounts on the front of the scope so that there is sufficient clearance to tilt it up. As long as I can find other scopes with a 1.5" front objective lense then I have other options, but the glass in this one is clear enough, I hope it holds zero..
Commonly known as German Claw Mounts. All are quick release.
New parts for the 7saum build.
