Still a Lego gun:)
how's the Atlas going? I might have to grab that back in about 2 weeks
Picked this up today for my little sis. Told her when she got her license we'd buy her first deer rifle, so had to live up to the promise.
Shooters world did a good deal on it. Howa lightweight .308, Leupy VX1 3-9x40. Good honest deer shooter. Hope she'll be happy!

I like those Howa's. Might buy one someday as a bush rifle
After shooting the auckland gong shoot with Nibblets gun that he kindly lend me,my own arrived yesterday from the smith.

next stage cerakoting but havent decided on the colour yet! any suggestions?
Where are you trying it out?
Nice rig Mayfly, any ideas what the overall weight is on that one?
I'm thinking of making something similar based on a Tikka M595, which is the heavier older brother to your T3.
kj
she is 10.7lbs/4.85kg as pictured on empty mag! what caliber is your tikka?
Mayfly, curious as to your reason for putting a brake on a 7-08 ?
Im picking to spot his own shots
Sent from my GT-S5360T using Tapatalk 2
not so much the kick but i like seeing where the bullets are impacting,my previous brake on a previous t3 was a holland qd brake and i absolutely loved it,insanly accurate, could spot my own shoots to 600yds! this should go better hopefully!
Here is my latest. Thanks to Brads for the rifle and Abe for doing the metal work.

The original bare rifle weighed 7lb 3.5oz.
I made a new carbon fibre stock for it. I tried a few new things and got the weight of the stock down to 16.5 oz. The factory stock, with a limbsaver was 40oz.
Fluting the barrel saved 5 oz, fluting bolt saved 0.8oz, lightweight firing pin saved 1.8oz. Abe also made a radial brake for it.
Weight of finished bare rifle is 5lb 4.2 oz. With the scope (Bushnell 6500 2.5 -16 x 42) and low Talley rings the final weight of the rifle is 6lb 10 oz.
Haven't finished working up loads yet. Working on 162 a-max for long range and 140 accubond as the close-up load.
mmmmm tasty stug
stug, wats the barrel length? Looks like a nice shooter too
Factory standard 22 inches
Notice the title of his post. Model 7 7SAUM.
Here is my newly finished DMPS AR 308, started out life as a DPMS Oracle but I couldn't leave it stock. Hope to shoot it this weekend.
16" barrel, carbine gas system
Geissele SSA-E trigger
Troy 13" handguard
PWS FSC30 Break
Vortex PST 4-16x

Picked up a lefty Remington 788 in 308 from trademe.
Action is smooth and bore looks good. Very minor surface rust around the scope bases. action and barrel needs to be re-blued or painted, and the stock needs some cosmetic work, but overall I think it was a great deal.
Serial no starts with 61, so good chance it was made in the late 60s, just like me !
Can't wait to start the restoration
Guess who went gay and got a 20g

Nice. Why?
I was planning on a 12g U/O for pigeons/ pheasants and was looking at the Yildiz spz me but after seeing Pointers 20g I thought about it a bit and it'll do for pigeons and pheasants. and adds a new cal to the cupboard.
[QUOTE=Toby;138658]Guess who went gay and got a 20g
Nothing wrong with that Toby (Getting a 20g...) that looks SWEET......
thinking of going that way myself!....20g NOT gay......jeeese
Looks like a nice gun and a real shottie too with only 2 round mag!!!!
There is nothing Gay about a 20g, I have one and I also have 28g adapters for it does that make me "uber gay"??
I have beaten 12g users at clays with it quite often. After you get used to it you with wonder why everyone bothers with heavy old 12g's that feel like you are swinging a concrete post, nuff said
I still like my 12g but this guns ok, just done tried its full choke out. Shot the same target which wasn't the best idea, first one at 30m then second at 20m. also noticed I'm not right on the mark although I could of steadied it a bit better. Should of tried to snap shoot it and see where I hit that would have been a good idea might do that later.
