.308 win 85 classic
I was really impressed by the beauty of that Sako when it came out of the box. And a bit gutted when my colleague chopped the barrel off.( he did the threading as well). It sure will be a pleasure to hunt with . Now go and kill some stuff with it.

Very smooth action ,
Quote: boy, did you see where I put my rifle down?
Yeah mate!.. you make a great point …. Just another “stick” in the woods ,if your not careful
Actually had this rifle for a few weeks but have had a few wee bits to sort out i got a thread insert to change the thread of the hardy compact can i picked up, and have had a few logistical issues around picking up the scope. Finally managed to pick up the scope this afternoon and mounted it in the low precision pro rings....could not have got it any closer to the piccatinny rail. Perfect alignment and comes up instinctively to the eye.
Looking forward to sighting in tomorrow and setting the zero stop.
She's a blued howa 1500 in 308win flavour, sitting in a Bell and Carson composite lightweight Weatherby Vanguard stock.
Will be doing a wee review on the Element Optics 2-16×50 HDLR MOA scope when time allows.

Jeez, dannyb gone greenie
This is good.
Makes me green with envy.
Just about made me vomit! Once you had nice rifles!
But it will probably shoot better than the mod 70 and Sako 06.

Don't worry she's getting a paint job soon, just didn't wanna piss about with it taking it outta stock, fitting javelin flush cup etc until I had tested accuracy to see if bedding etc needed some love.
Rest assured I'll post much more tasteful pics when it's been "Dannified"
‘Dannified’ a term meaning ‘sold after brief ownership’

Is it not already sold?
Just joking Danny, just use it. Doesn’t hurt to have a flash one!

7PRC trueflite barrel. Spiral fluted which I like
22”

@PerazziSC3
Is True Flite offering new barrels for Blaser actions ? ( I didn't know so apologies if my question seems ignorant ). Bloody good if they are.
Have you shot it much yet checking accuracy against a Blaser barrel ?
Is True Flite barrel cost more economical than buying Blaser ?
Cheers
ps - really nice looking rifle. Is it an R93 ? I have two.
Yes R93, you need to supply a barrel stub and then they can put anything on. I have a hardy one also. Haven’t shot yet will do this weekend. This was about $1750 plus barrel stub, so yes more economical than buying blaser but you can’t buy a blaser r93 barrel anymore
Well the fluro green and skulls are now gone, and i must say, It's hard to believe it's the same rifle....

I can't decide what's more likely to upset the average tramper. Tactical black with gold bling. Or safety green with scary skulls.
Tidy job mate.
That will make it a lot easier to sell :)
My first little rifle. Thanks to Viper for selling it to me. A wonderful thing

It's a CZ452, .22cal. Very happy with it, haven't had much chance to use it yet, apart from making little groups in a cardboard box on the back yard and shooting some home kill pigs. It's absolutely amazing after using my old break barrel air rifle.

Not new but nearly how I want it
Here's what happens when you decide to have a clean out of 3 nice scopes & 3 nice rifles that you'll just not using & buy a "do everything fun gun"
Many thanks to Simon & the team @ Hunt'n"Fish Manawatu
Sako 90 Peak in 308, Swaro Z8 3.5 - 28 x 50 BT & DPT SS mag can. not a bad weight @ 8 1/4 lb

PS - Yes the true "train spotter" will see that I'm missing two ring screws, brought those PRW rings months ago & then discovered they were missing, so will sort before I take to the range & pop it's Cherry.
@Ryan_Songhurst how does that Howa go? Been talking to Mark about one but fair to say his reviews are mixed at best!
Yea he wasn't a fan of the rail setups that come with them when I took it to him. Other than that it's a good wee gun, functional and accurate. Two stage trigger isn't my favorite thing in the world and I'm not a fan of plastic bits or magazines on hunting rifles so I would be first in line if a floorplate came out for them. You could spend a shit tonne of money trying to build something lighter.
The Howa Superlight is an awesome rifle for the money if you're after the "lightest bang for buck"
Pro's - Stock feels great & has a decent LOP for a super LW, trigger is fine & breaks plenty clean enough for it's purpose ( it's a lw med - big game rifle, no a comp or varmint gun ), you can now get Talleys for it, mine shoots factory ammo just under an inch @ a hundy yards ( impressive for a cheap light weight rifle ) & best of all it's farken light - did I mention that already ?
Con's - Ditch the shit arsed looking rail ( wtf were they thinking ) butt pad rubber fit's a bit off, the plastic mag fitting is a little shite & the bolt slide is sticky az but for the dollars fuk me I can't complain
I was running mine with a real lw scope but now running something ( what may look a bit over sized but far more useful for what I want, still under six pound at 2.69kg with the 18x Z5i ) 20" 6.5CM
Attachment 237980
Yea being able to have something factory that can be under 3kg suppressed is pretty unreal. I reckon one in 308 would make a neat wee backpack gun
