Very nice lines. Sure looks a quality piece of kit.
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
One day you'll understand.
And with some glass on top she’s sitting around 4.3kg

This is my main rifle for pretty much all the hunting I do if a serious centerfire round is called for.
Tikka T3x Lite 20" in .308 Winchester
Zeiss HT 2.5-10x50
ERA rings and picrail
A-Tec H2
Bell & Carlson Sporter with custom bedding
Harris BRMS
By now I reload 150 grs FOX Classic Hunter (lead free deformating bullet) with great success.
Average for four rounds (after all it is a hunting profil barrel) is settling around 0.7 MOA.
This is an average for twelve different "four round groups" on multiple days.
This group was shot in the field @100 m.
Scope was not yet adjusted to the new LOT.

That setup would be right at home in NZ.
PS I like the bolt handle.
My back to basics gun. Used to mostly bush hunt and then got more into farm hunting where shooting longer became the norm as well as not being to far from the ute or quad meant rifle weight never became a problem so could have lots of stuff and big scopes and long barrels then I went bush hunting again and didn’t enjoy using my rifle, so a buddy was selling his and I couldn’t say no for what he wanted for it. So got a basic rifle again.

Entered the registry circus due to this 118 year old I Hollis with the London address, she's got mint, bores ejectors and all!
Finally got the last bits I been waiting on to get my 300prc completely the way I want it
B14 wilderness barrel and action
Timmney elite hunter trigger
Wheeler 2 piece cant bubble rings
Athlon 4.5-27×50 Midas BTR Gen 2
Niggaloh qd sling
DPT mk2 magnum braked suppressor
Acculong v4 carbon bipod
Acculong raised cheek piece
SAP 2 round ammo holder
Precision Platforms carbon stock with 4 L.O.P spacers.
Super comfortable to shoot, surprisingly a pussycat under recoil, can't wait to sling some more rounds through it and take a deer at some point.

Hi Danny, your throats on the Athlon scope. Was thinking of getting a smaller 2.5x16x50 Athlon Madas.
Thorts,bugger the pretex.
My thoughts....I like it, very well made, holds zero, tracks well, packed with features, illumination, rock solid zero stop, glass is pretty good.
I think for the price point it's great value, sure it's not up to nightforce, March etc specs but it's about 1/4 the price.
You could do alot worse, I don't know if there's any other scope in this price point I'd rather have that matches the specs.
Ffp would be nice and I think Athlon do offer ffp in some of their scopes but the price is substantially higher.
Thanks for yr thorts.
Cheers Trout.
The new baby, pierce ti action, proof 20inch carbon barrel, hawkins ultralight rings, trigger tech diamond 2 stage trigger, peak 44 carbon stock and a od ti suppressor, all work done by jaco himself, and supplied components by the man cam @ alpine.
2.6kg all ready to do with arca rail + scope when I find one!@
Chambered in 6.5 gap 4s or... 6.5rsaum. I now have a family of them... 6.5, 7 and a 300 saum. I can't get enough!!

I am in the process of loading up some Barnes 50gn TSX projectiles and can't wait to get it out for a spin on some game.
Thanks very much. Have you lost my address from the last sample pack you sent me?:D
Looks like a great set up, and will be great to hunt with.
After some rudimentary load development I managed to get down to the range between showers and complete a 8 shot sighting in session at 106 yards.
Attachment 261884
The top 3 shots in the white are from bore sighting, then 5 in the black. Very pleased with the result.
I enjoyed my time with a titan 6 luxus. I seem to remember Nick Harvey saying the titan 3 was the most accurate rifle they had ever tested. @Tahr will be along soon to tell you to be careful inserting the bolt as the alloy receiver marks easily, its good advice.
.243. I played around a lot with different bullets and powders. It just shot everything well.

One from the local Hacket herd. The antlers maybe still be hanging in a tree up there.
I had a ridge i used to hunt in the cooler months. There was another guy using the same ridge as Id often see buller boot prints and tracks from a medium sized dog.
To be fair I have the photographic ability of Stevie Wonder. Its most likely just were he piled up and I got a bit lucky with the pic.
@Larskramer that’s a nice looking rifle. The long rail is an interesting addition, I’ll have to look it up on the MTN web page. What sort of tripod do you plan to use?
I’m eyeing up a Leofoto tripod, that appears to be identical to a Leupold, but half the price.
@sneeze… have the BAR .243….mucking around with factory 80gr/100 gr loads… doesn’t seem to be a lot of difference on paper….. what grain did u settle on ???
Thanks mate…I settled on the ,…HORNADY .243 Win 80 gr CX…….seems to shoot a tighter group
I had two absolutely insane weeks at work and no weekend in between but then:
The DHL delivery guy made my day this Friday!
My new stock, scope and mount for the second T3x arrived. :)
And a real weekend ahead of me...
Perfect timing!
So I put it all together that very evening and went shooting Saturday.
Rounds touching @100m with 178grs ELD-X and 150grs FOX bullets right away.
And man do I dig the ergos, quality and appearance of the stock!
Attachment 263402
Super happy with this rig!
Sure... Happy to!
The stock is the so called "Outlaw" version from "German Gun Stocks".
A small company in Saxony that makes very nice laminated stocks.
Quite light for that kind of material and with an integral aluminum bedding block.
Fit and finish is very nice.
The scope is the Schmidt and Bender "META" 3-18x42.
Fairly new and my first try with S&B for quite some time.
Super slick scope.
All metal.
Built like a tank!
Used the Spuhr hunting rings to mount it.
To me I have a perfect pair of Tikkas now...
1. The "Green Tikka" as my primary hunting rig.
Tikka T3x Lite - .308 WIN - 20"
A-Tec H2
Zeiss Victory HT 2.5-10x50 with ERA rings
Bell & Carlson "Medalist" with custom bedding.
2. The "Grey Tikka" as backup and primary shooting range device.
Tikka T3x Lite - .308 WIN - 20"
A-Tec H2
S&B META 3-18x42 with Spuhr rings
GGS Outlaw stock
Both with standard trigger set to the minimum weight.
Both with the same custom bolt handle.
Both with standard floorplate.
Both with a bipod option.
Both deliver 0.5 MOA groups. By now this is the average for 21 different 3-shot-groups. Worst was 0.9 MOA. Best was 0.2 MOA. Just shows again: Statistics rule. Not the one good group...
I think I have what I really wanted and needed by now... :)
Just love those Tikkas.
Cheers
Ben

Marlin 336 XLR 2007 build 30-30 cal in stainless. Bought used and have set about modifying to my specs; Magpul ELG Stock (pistol grip). Midwest Industries Forend. Wild West Guns Big Loop Lever & plunger spring. Ranger Point Precision trigger, cartridge follower and loading gate (massive improvement on stacking rounds in there!). Aimpoint H2 for the optic and DPT suppressor. Barrel was shortened to 20.5" but I should have cut it to 22.5" ish so I can keep fit the Magnun suppressor I have lying around. Will probably load Hornady 175gr Sub X's as this will be a 40m bush gun for pigs and fallow.

Ben… you can NEVER have enough guns!!!
