Ok, my initial thought was whoa big front sight, but then looked again and colour seems different, so thought it might be a pointy rock behind the rifle...
Does the front blade have wings on the side like some other battle sights ? Just looks pretty big, might also be the angle of the photo...

I've been playing with a cool iPhone app which enhances your images as I'm no photographer. Here's a photo of my walk-up upland game 12Ga.

I'd shorten the Volquartsen barrel by about 2.5 inches if I was you :P
Cool Remmy, very nice
Nothing a little insulation tape can't fix. I would love a jam on one of those semi 17hmr. Be great fun.
Yeah, the are great fun. I believe the Volquartsens are one of the very few .17HMR Semi Autos on the market that function properly!:) The only thing is they (and the .22 Magnum Versions) tend to throw the bolt handle from time to time!:(
I also have the same rifle in .22LR but only with straight flutes (my mate has the .22 Magnum Version!)
I think straight flutes would be more my cup of tea, wavey ones are a little to arts and crafts for a tool for me. But to each their own.
Hundy round drum mag and field full of bunnies would be so much fun.
Thats a big ass mof scope on that rifle and is it sitting om the barrel?
2nd photo shoing about 1mm clearance. just enough :P
4 months? Ended up getting him a cz
Here's my little .22LR version of the same. I got this one on September 3, 2004 from NZ Importer, and don't get me wrong it took a hang of a long time to arrive (an honest 7 months I believe!)
In fact the .17 HMR, that I posted earlier in this thread, was a full nine (9) month 'exactly' to the day (from when I placed my order, December 7, 2004, to when it showed at my door, September 7, 2005) wait!:(
Indeed, so long was the duration, that I was advising anybody who was interested in one of these rifles (and I'll advise you too) to firstly conduct a simply test by placing their hands between their and legs and squeezing, and if you feel any lumps (apart from the obvious two) in the scrotum, then you can forget about ordering, for you'll only do your deposit and you'll be long dead before the rile arrives!:D
The other thing I will tell you right here, right now is, if you WANT it you have to keep up them (Importer) 'HARD' up them, it's not enough for you to simply place an order and then go to sleep! I was told (by the Importer) on both occasions, with both rifle orders that it would take three months, and I was ringing them every second week after that until they finally arrived!

Good to see my old 708 is put to use! Is the new M48 .280?
The 708 is a great hunting rifle and handles everything I throw at it, as you can see haha.
The new one is 280 Ackley Imp. I wanted something familiar but a big more oomph than the 708, hoping to get to the states later this year for elk.
Very nice:)
