After a long time of looking for the right gun- I have finally got a pre64 supergrade Model 70 Winchester in 30-06. A good mate sold me the 4x Leupold and the rifle came with the original supergrade swivels, sling, redfield bases/blind rings, gold front sight bead and hood. Wood is immaculate. Built a light weight stock for the Model 7 260 imp to replace the horrible plastic fantastic.
The stock is pretty light at 500 grams with the Limbsaver recoil pad :)

The wood is quite soft, nowhere near as strong as Carbon Fibre & it will get damaged but such is life, it's there to be used :)
4.96 pounds all up ready to go is really light, like really light.

Exactly why I need to save. Spending on a tax stamp for a cheap lower doesnt make much sense. But if I go the SBR route then switching out the lower and building a new rifle from this one is easy enough.

Personally I'd take the bullet holder off it and not a put a scope on it. Beautiful rifle.

Umm bush, and open hill country so pretty much anything,
Think your right about bullet holder, my open sight shooting abilities don't stretch too far so scope is a must at the moment

I had one the same. Your new rifle will do anything any of the flash Harrys’ on here can do out to 600 yards.
Suit the sights to your application. I had a light 3-9 on mine. You decide, and don’t be swayed by the no scope mantra. You get a lot of that from down south. That’s where their leader lives.
Note that the front barrel band is held by a small screw with a little square nut on the inside. I suggest you glue the nut into its recess. It will fall out the first time you take the band off, and its very easy to lose. I glued mine in.

I have a Terra. Its pretty cool on dark lights the hill right up. Yet too use it though

Best I can tell the CF stock is only a pattern but looks cool and the factory fluted barrel is a nice touch. This variation was only $120 over the price of a standard X-Bolt Stainless Stalker so I thought WTF !
It may not look so new after a tour of Southland at the end of the year.
I am off to shoot some paper at the local Sportsman's Club (range) . . . . behind the High School !
