+1!
And Angus, I don't know where you propose to shoot said 10/22 (other than the range) so if you actually have a bunny spot around here, hook a brother up!!!!

Angus they are a good rifle .. but unless you have some land to blast some bunny's on the only other place to use it would be a range...
Ill see if i can arrange some time on my mates farm and get you along, more than welcome to have a shoot with what I use (im not as rich as the rest of the members and only use a tikka or the .22)
But that way you can start learning afew things before you go spending hard earned money... :)
Thanks Tikka that would be awesome!
Dougie, i don't know of any rabbit spots in wellington but the waikato is a different matter haha....not much use to you probably though.

Meets all the mil spec QC requirements. One of the best quality AR parts I've ever handled. Always wanted a Tier 1 AR.
its beautiful, is that a bayo lug i see? what profile barrel?
M4 profile. The bayo lugs been butchered, I guess to make it importable.
It wouldn't work any way
I was teasing, obviously if it has a bayo lug your going straight to hell for that one :D
oh 14.5" or 16" barrel?
16" bro US legal
Beav, how do they secure the barrel in those one-piece uppers? It is a one-peice eh?
Ray.

You can take the bottom rail off for barrel replacement...and fitting an M203... I haven't taken it off yet, will do when I am bored enough. Colt claimed to have improved the barrel nut design. It was a design submitted for SOCOM rifle trials in 2004 so the story goes. Doing up some handloads for it now. Will shoot tomorrow if the weather cuts me some slack.
Yes it is a monolithic upper
are you sure:thumbsup:
Hey I wasn't a gunner but that's the thingy you took off after the barrel, right? It's screws off and you pull the whole thing out (away from you) ...er maybe that was after the plastic hand grip comes off? Fuck I can't remember, serves me right for trying to show off :P
Dougie, I am sure that VC will confirm that it is the gizmo at the back of the dooflunky.
I was more meaning my arbitrary use of silly words to describe something I know nothing about VC. Until you said so I didn't even know the thread was about MSSA's.
Well it isn't an MSSA...so... yea
Just saying
Hey I just called my gun nut friend and it turns out I was correct, the hoojamaflick thingy was the one I meant!!! Twisty fingery hoodack. Comes off after the barrel comes off.
Well I battled the damn wind and rain to do some preliminary accuracy testing. Seems to like 55gr Lapua soft points. Best group I got with them was .6", second group was around .8". Fired 3 loads with 55gr Hornady pills - FMJ training, SP training and a FMJBT handload (25grs of 2206H). Does around 1.5" with those loads. Had four loose rounds of Winchester 64gr PP which shot like shit. Now to try some 77gr SMK's and 75gr Hornady BTHP's... I'm pretty pleased considering I was shooting at 4.5x magnification in shit weather. It's a service rifle barrel too - M4 profile, 1:7 twist and chrome lined, not like my RRA stainless truck axle barrel.
Here is my first 338 Norma on a 700 action with PT&G bolt.
Fluted 26" Trueflite UM barrel T3 Terminator brake.
It is bedded into a 700p stock with 5 shot mag.
Have fired about 15 rounds so far & it has nearly stopped fouling.
So far she is shooting the 300s 1/2 moa at just over 2800 fps

Nice
That is great accuracy Kiwigreg !!!
That's very nice KG. Looking forward to a hunting report at some stage.
Damn KG that is just plain spunky. What does it cost you per round. Do you load your own?
I'm pretty sure depending on diet, KiwiGreg poops out ammunition.
you did it again dougie ha ha ! dont post here until youve got a toy to show of the fireing veriety
I'm sure she fires Neckshot:P
Yep I load all my center fires, I don't have many factory chambers
That one would only be about $3 depending on bullet & case life.
Here is a pic from this morning at the range :)
