Put one together in anger Friday night out of bits I had sitting around.
Call out the house gun
T3 action
McMillan 75 edge tech stock
Kreiger 1n8.5, #2, 24inch fluted
Vx6 3-18x50 in some Talleys
Light weight carbon over barrel suppressor.
Chambered to touch lands and feed from t3 mag it's happy with 130 vlds at 3260, and tight neck to get rid of some brass on the neck down. Doesn't shoot as good at the barrel on the r8 but not far away with only 1 trip to the range.
Anyone want to buy it flick me a pm. . . . . .

This the QD version? Where did you get your mount for the sling swivel from?
I find it very unforgiving on my rifle stock. Seems to happily rip out the threading of the sling stud.
Yes its a qd mounted to a piccatinny. I mounted the rail using the sling swivel stud and in the other end a stainless machine screw. Both have nuts and loctited in on the inside. Its on a sako 75

M55 222 Hardy can.
Trying to decide on which scope it needs.
Horrible things. I used to have something similar to that as a serv. rifle. Mine was the second from left. Hated it.

Great stuff PT, my first rifle was L/E 303 Mark 5 'Jungle Carbine'....loved it, had a hell of a kick....well done mate, good place to start, you can fire 'anything' if you can shoot one well.....'if'.......
Fantastic PT. Is your dad charging you safe rental?
Nice, love the select fire option.
Prefer these selector markings (not mine)

The stock and rings/bases turned up this week so I have thrown it together with a 3-9 I had lying around.

I am pretty impressed with the boyds stock, fit is precise and has a really nice finish. Shame you cant go over the $100 mark as I would have liked to have added some checkering.
Also impressed with the finish on the howa action, much higher standard than anything else I picked up in the price range.

The idea was to buy new glass (prob bushy elite 3-16) and a DPT can, but am considering putting up with the extra bang, and lower quality optics (quite like the Nikon 3-9 as chunting option anyway) spending the cash on a reloading setup instead.
When the current feckin hurricane blows itself out I might actually get a chance to go break her in.
Cheers for all who gave me advice on the choosing of calibre ect.
Some what of a bit of a play thing
Tikka 6.6x55, MDT LSS forestock, XLR buttstock, Vortex PST.
Maybe new barrel and maybe a suppressor coming - not too sure yet...... Need to shoot it some more (actual, need to shoot it - only fired about 25 rounds so far)

Hope it's got a 1-7 twist barrel for the 90 vlds? That'd b grouse
With a 1 in 8 they love the 75g amax and the 60 g NBT.
She's only 1-14 boys. It will just be a varmint stopper so it will be fine with the smaller pills screaming along:)
My tikka varmint is wicked in 22-250.
It loves 35.5 of 08 and 52 g amax at 3630.
All put into lapua brass.
The magpies and hares dont like it much!
