Tikka T3 action, bolt stop and mag extended by me.

25" Truflite, 7WSM. Throat optimised for a full case and a 162 amax. Still a cm of room in the mag too.

Stug Stock, absolutely awesome.

$8 ATI shotgun cheek piece. Spent a couple hours last night hoeing into it with the dremel, perfect fit and height.

One piece alloy rings and a Sightron SIII 3.5-10-44 MRAD.

The bare rifle is 5lb 12oz with a mag full. The deep fluted barrel is 4oz heavier and 3" longer than a standard 6.5mm T3 barrel.

Haven't even fired it in the new stock yet. Sub MOA with my fireform loads in the plastic stock though.

Looks nice! How does the balance feel being that light with a long barrel?

Feels fine to me. I don't think I've ever had a well balanced rifle for comparison though

Used to be in live with them but theyre a barrel burner without the payoff. A 6.5/284 isnt far behind it in velocity and miles ahead in barrel life and efficiency. And if you want balls out speed the 6.5/300wsm variety is the way to go

As Chris said it's 6.5-300wsm, trued rem700 la, shillin tube 22 inch will burn this 1 an have 26 for next but loving the 22inch so don't know. McMillan hunters edge stock, Talley alloy rings, scope will be either a march or premier but is Bushnell for the loads an 1st few animals of more to come.

What do you call miles ahead? - Most of the 6.5/284s I have had anything to do with have toppled over at around 1000 -1200 rounds and sometimes earlier and at the most inconvenient time ie in the middle of several day shooting champs. Probably not a problem in a hunting rig although if you get a kick out of bombing goats you could reach that round count soonish. No free lunches with hot calibres is there?

As low as 5-600 rounds if you load it hot

rem sendero SF II 7mm rem mag, vortex viper HS 4-16x44 DPT brake harris bipod.

Those vortex vipers are bloody good scopes, i have set up a few now and they are well worth the price

Crystal clear, the trick is to look through one next to your fav leupold.

Latest project completed :)

Left hand Tikka 595 in 7mm-08 ( :-X)

Bedded and floated.

Barrel and action duracoated.

Stripped stock and oiled.

Chopped to 16.5 inches, threaded and suppressed by DPT.

Only sighted in last night so havent really tested grouping. But it will be a dedicated bush rifle so tight grouping wont be critical.

No Rushy. Its actually shorter overall than the original length of the barrel before we choppped it. Plus I will be shooting over my dog, so suppressor is needed for that
