Devcon (or any other bedding compound) is not the answer. The barrel needs to be refitted semi-permanently to the receiver, check the crown, and a good trigger job. That will give the rifle the ability to shoot 1/2" groups at 50 metres. I have done literally hundreds of them over the years. It would also pay to check the barrel channel for tight spots. Instead of bedding, a wee packer washer cut from the lid of an ice cream container can be put between the stock and the receiver pad round the stock screw.Quote:
