Maybe get Abe to make you up a tac knob for your bolt.
Will speed up cycling a bit.
Hearing a lot of good things about the HD 5. Have you used it much? German built one eh?

This one is brand new mate.
I've shot plenty of animals with my other one.
The glass is very crisp, I'd rate it between the z5 and z6, they dial reliably, have zero stop, 18 moa a turn heaps for the real world. My only dislike is the locking turrets they are big, no drama for a bunny gun.
Yes made in Germany.
Yes I'm after a tac bolt knob.

Merry Christmas to me....................
Very nice!!
If it's the one from tardme then I was trying to bid against you but the purse strings would not open far enough!
A mate has one that with handloads shoots way better than some would believe, and it's just cool.
thats on my dream list for rifles.
one day...
Got a Boyds Rimfire Hunter stock for the ol' 10/22

It's a shame that it shoots like absolute garbage now, time to get out the Devcon

This might help.

Finally got my Vortex scope from Oz so raced into Broncoes to get the Vortex precision matched rings and bubble level to finish it all off. So far has shot multiple ragged holes with a 3-9 nighteater while waiting for the viper. 91gr of 2225 under a 300SMK are doing the business for now.

Devcon (or any other bedding compound) is not the answer. The barrel needs to be refitted semi-permanently to the receiver, check the crown, and a good trigger job. That will give the rifle the ability to shoot 1/2" groups at 50 metres. I have done literally hundreds of them over the years. It would also pay to check the barrel channel for tight spots. Instead of bedding, a wee packer washer cut from the lid of an ice cream container can be put between the stock and the receiver pad round the stock screw.
a plastic washer? you could get one from a blouser owner

Not to bad then I imagine a carbon stock would bring that right down

I figured why not
Makes no sense to deny yourself :)
It's still lighter than your sako VC:)
My weight is accurate I'm not arguing on the web about it, the stocks/action/fluting can see the same models vary up to 3 pounds.
I'm not sure the cal makes any difference I will weigh some barrels at some stage.

Grade 3 Turkish walnut stock! I can see why you are pissed you have scratched it up hunting.
I find only using half of the barrel helps keep the weight down:D

Bush pig and a half, nice!
