    Gun Rag - Lint Free?

What do people use for gun rags for their oiling or cleaning purposes?

I used to use just patches but wanted a decent size oily rag. Tried a microfiber cloth which is linting like fucking crazy. Call me anal, but it's annoying having red lint everywhere (bad colour choice).

Does anyone use chamois? Have heard these don't lint but do they go all hard like they do for car cleaning unless wet?

Anyone know of any good lint free cloths?

Relax. I just cut up the rolls of cloth from the local store. Doesn't seem to cause any issues.

I can't do that. I wont give up wearing them till the collar seam disintegrates.

I've heard old shirts are good Toby - all the lints gone after years of wear and washing haha. What cloth do you use Gadget? Cotton?

Thanks Moutere, they look interesting - kinda looking for more of a permanent cloth though rather than disposables.

I use old cotton tee shirt rags scored out of rag bin at work. But my best wipe down rag is a microfibre cloth that I got from a car polish kit.
Decent microfibre shouldn't create lint/fluff at all. Hence why its recommended for using on things that you don't want lint on, like LCD and plasma TV screens.

4"x2" Flannel Gun Cleaning Cloth Roll

Cut along the red lines. Then cut in two for the 308, three for the 243 or four for the 223 and into labelled plastic bags.

Hmmm I have a roll of that stuff. It's ok but I always chuck it after a few uses. More after a decent cloth/rag to keep in a ziplock bag nicely oiled with G96! Oh well maybe i'll try a chamois! Haha.

Well it is made to throw away. I have a pair of old moleskins that I hack up for wiping rags.

Cotton sheets are pretty lint-free are they? It seems a difficult search and i've now stumbled across a few threads on different forums with people having similar issues. We're probably all too anal, but fuck it's annoying seeing lint all over your nicely cleaned and polished gun .

Microfiber is a bloody have from what i've seen so far. No lint my ass!

Will give an old cotton t-shirt a go, otherwise i'll stick to that flannel gadget linked I guess.
