Thread: Gun serial numbers for Registration

I believe that you need a serial number to register, seems you can apply for exceptions. See attached document.

As for creating a number see attached the guide that has been issued, it suggests using two letters, say initials, date stamped and four numbers from the license number, so John Smith with License number X34587 gets his gun stamped in 2004....serial number JS244587. Actually seems to make sense.

As for placing, some come from the manufacturer with stamping under the wood or in a location not initially obvious so I guess that is an option.
