Ten high-powered guns stolen from a rural property on Ohura Road in inland Taranaki- a green Terios also taken
3 January 2012
Concerns have been raised by South Taranaki police after 10 high-powered guns were stolen on New Year's Day.
The theft occurred between 8am and 8pm at a rural property on Ohura Road in inland Taranaki.
The guns were stored in an arms safe which the offenders levered open.
As well as the ten guns the thieves took a green Daihatsu Terios, which was abandoned at the Te Wera Camp track, about 35 kilometres from Stratford.
Police would like to hear from anybody who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the area, especially anybody who may have seen a dark-coloured station wagon, which was in the area at the time.

In all honesty, a trail cam or similar might not be a silly idea. DSE sells motion sensor webcams. I'm not worried about the theft in itself, more about what thieving scum f*cks might do with my firearms.
They also stole some ammunition, so I assume they grabbed the bolts and magazines for the rifles too.
What is a low powered rifle as opposed to high power??? Why do the media class EVERY rifle(it seems) as a high powered rifle? Are there low powered rifles?
this was in de daily snooze this mornin
