Anyone got one and what do you think?
I have some of the Spear ones, and they are appalling... way too short... next to zero cheek weld, have to cut buffer tube screw down, and have the feel and look of a $10 Airsoft stock.
Gunshitty one any better?

Its an a2 buttstock combined with a hogue grip. Use your imagination. I think they are pretty good especially if you are used to a similar setup.
I'm not sure about the polymer used in the spear stocks. Feels a bit... brittle?
I've heard of them breaking
GC or Spear?
GC
There's always the Servo one.
The moulding around the grip and buttstock can be a bit iffy looking so it would pay to look through a line up before picking one. If thats an option of course.
As for them breaking, i heard of an AK breaking once too.
Just out of interest would anyone ever buy a timber ar stock in a cat configuration?

I have one already. JP thumb hole.
I priced getting them made a long time ago but the laminate over here was worth prob what a finished product could sell for.
how do you find it spanners ?
by the way when you say ak one you dont mean the choate ones do you ? as i have one of those on my sks and it seems solid as
Brought it about 6 yrs ago after they had stopped making them.
I love it. Fits like a glove.
The butt pad is lower than the charging handle axis and this brings a better sight picture height.
Right handed only thumb hole.
I always wanted a jp laminate stock but could never find one, how i envy you spanners.
The choate stocks are solid. I was referring to an AK in general, it was my subtle way of pointing out that if bobs uncles mothers sisters cousins son heard that it broke then it doesnt mean that its a bad product. To much second hand info gets chucked around forums and it becomes gospel.
Took me months and months to find one and paid a fortune for it, but have become good friends with the guy I brought it off in the US so not all bad :)
Rub it in why dont you.
Blahahhahaha :)
Want a pic of it?? :D (say no as its on the BACK of the safe and I can't be arsed lol)
i think he secretly wants too.... go on then ! you know you want too show it off!:D i do want to envy it also.....
Back of the safe? Thats a shame, be careful you dont ding it when pulling it out for the picture you have to post up....
Still can't be arsed LOL. Maybe morrow
seriously you love playing tetris remember ? maybe have a game tomorrow after work you'll love it
It took four attempts for me to get a Gun City stock that was not cracked at the grip to stock joint.
The stock and grip are moulded separately, and then plastic welded together, hence this joint is a little weak.
Once it is on the rifle then this joint is well supported, but be careful when fitting, it takes next to nothing to crack them!!!
It feels like an A2 stock with a normal grip, just wish this joint was done properly, and it would be a nice stock.
...I changed to a Spear stock, but do agree with above, it has no cheek weld making target aquizition a little slow on high magnification, oh and the thin grip!
Will test out the spears stock this weekend! :)
vindicated, yes! :)
you can see the plastic weld in the photo of my last one...

Wow that weld looks terrible.
Gun shitty thumb hole stock got a favorable mention in the latest NZ guns and hunting mag. They gave gun city ar a pretty good review, said pretty solid and good rifle for the price despite rough finishing

But they would say that about anything to be fair.
This is true!!!

Drove backwards and forwards over the Spear Mags stock in a 2.2 tonne Landrover. Stopped on top of it for 10mins. Couldnt break it. Buffer tube still fits perfectly at the end of the test.
These stocks are strong.
Perhaps someone here could try it with a "Gunshitty" stock.

Fark.....cant argue with that Digit!!!!!!
I'm supprised the landie coped with such a large "little" bump
These piece of shit Spear stocks have the safety detent spring hole too long and when assembled there is bugger all engagement. Checked 4 of them.
The fit of the thumb web to the lower is bollox too.
$8 Airsoft - not $10
