    Gunsmith recommend in Welly

Asking for a friend who’s not good with computers - are there any good gunsmith recommendations in Wellington for some old mauser work? He’s restoring a rear sight and breaking some frozen screws.

Yellow Pages shows MEC in the Porirua region and the forum says Mitch Maxberry in the Hutt. Gun shop recommends Geoff Collings in Paraparaumu.

    Many thanks.

Thanks Gents. So Mitch is still doing gunsmithing?

he is still doing work, but has a very long waiting list- the days of just dropping stuff into him are gone. With Scott mostly doing other things there is a real opening for a general purpuse gunsmith in the lower north island. Geoff would be a good person to call imho for a old mauser

I second Alan Carr. He may not be the quickest but does a thorough job.

Mec Cameron used to do gun smithing. I know a few people who got onto him via hutt valley gun club to have stuff done, and they were happy with the results.
