    Gunsmith for suppresor fitting?

N00b question: if my rifle is factory threaded do I need a smith to fit it if it's an over-the-counter, over barrel can designed for my calibre?

If so, why? Dr Google hasn't been very helpful.

No just buy a suppressor with correct thread and caliber then make sure the rear bushing (if it’s an over barrel suppressor) is the right diameter for the profile of your barrel.

What are the Goodwin Prototyping suppressors like? A post on this site from 2015 said they weren't as effective as others eg Gunworks. Have they improved since then?
I'd love to shop local, but only if they do the job.

I don’t think they sell the Goodwin prototyping suppressor anymore, DPT is the CF suppressor they seem to stock. Good shop but the website is usually a bit behind the times.
