    gunworks or dpt?

any recommendations on silencers? Looking for the best value, and have fallen on dpt or gunworks, I'd love to hear which is quieter or if there was some sort of graph that shows the decibel comparison of silencers would be very helpful.

    Cheers,

I've got both... Prefer the balance of the skinny Spartan on longer barrel as it's slightly further back so balance is better.length over all, weight n noise are so similar to make no real difference. Your in CHCH so go see Amanda, she will see you right.and just in case I've offended.i love my two DPT suppressors too. One on fat barrel and one muzzle forward both work great.

    Cheers,
The only advice I usully give is that if you are also threading your rifle then get the thread done by the same place that you get the suppressor. If it is already threaded then take the rifle and give it to whoever you get the suppressor and tell them you want a suppressor that fits this rifle. That way you know the suppressor will fit that rifle.

You are in Chch I would recommend that you go see Amanda at Gunworks...by going in person there is a whole lot less paperwork and faffing about. And it wont have the chance to get damaged or pinched in transit...

I would say both are very good, I have Gunworks and have used DPT (and a variety of others). If you're in the Nth Island, DPT all the way and South go with Gunworks. The possible only real difference is the ability to add or remove sections off the DPT but to be honest I can't say I've ever had to - or felt that I missed the feature on the Gunworks cans.

The biggest thing is get the threading done at the same place that supplies the can if you can, I've had issues with one can that was fitted to a barrel threaded by a third party - no fault of either as the can was fine and the muzzle thread was to spec and all aligned just for some reason it shot loose. Another that was threaded by Gunworks had the same issue and I can confirm in that case Amanda's service and support backup is second to none.

Another consideration is that DPT now offers the addition of a braked end cap just another option to increase recoil reduction

I have a few of both. They all work as they should. If I was buying another one it would be DPT but only because my local gun shop has them in stock so I don't need to deal with permits and paperwork. As others have said, for that same reason, go and see Gunworks.

Gunworks or DPT. Ask Friwi. Bias aside our DPT cans are quieter than new. We clean them including the stainless baffle generally no longrr than 3 hunts. Look at DPT cleaning instructions. Also bought the Gradus grease for the threads. Not a fan that carbon build up is good for a can.

Also consider a-tec. Local supplier. Friends can't believe how tame my lightweight kimber is in 308. Boots less than a 6.5cm in a heavier rifle with one of the suppressors mentioned above. Also side by side quieter than a friends 308 with another local brand. I really rate it. The negatives though, heats up very fast so not good for bombing goats etc and have to be very patient at the range. It also sits slightly further forward than the dpt from memory.

Had both dpt and gun works.
Both good products, both NZ made which should count for something.
You’ll be happy with either, if you want super compact then maybe DPT, otherwise support ya local!!!!

I use both, pick one and run with it.
    Can't go wrong with either.
