Thread: Hagn Single Shot Action. Martin Hagn's death

In a recent For Sale post for a Ruger #1 there was mention from a forum member about his Hagn actioned rifle.

That pricked my memory and I just thought I would mention that Martin Hagn died late last year.

He was a truly remarkable firearm builder.
His action is almost universally considered the very best of the currently made custom single shot rifle actions.
Everything about his rifles was artistry and nearing perfection.
The action design is a very elegant falling block, but he managed to perfect it so that there are no visible fastenings or pins.
I suspect there were countless hours spent perfecting this design and I expect it will be a long time before.
He was perhaps one of the greatest rifle machinists of our time and also had an perfect eye for the look and lines of the rifles.
