I wanted to hate Tikka's, I really did...but they work so damn well that I just cant.

I bought a rough as guts Tikka T3 in Scotland for a hundred quid...owner reckoned he had put at least 5 thousand rounds through it.....the rifle had had zero love...i ditched the stock...had an inch cut off the barrel and gave it a good clean....never got around to reloading for it as it shot the Federal blue box into 3/4 inch groups
..i would have liked to have had the time to develop a load for it as the factory ammo was pretty slow through it...still killed just fine though !
i should have said that a 6.5x55 T3 aswell...
I think even people who hate them won’t deny their inherent accuracy and reliability I’m not a fan Iv had plenty and il have a few more no doubt
It’s the cartridge, not the rifle, try a Tikka in 223, I sold both of mine, just hopeless and then figured it was the factory cartridges. Handloads you tune.
I have a Sako 6.5 and it’s consistency on the range is amazing,no matter which factory load.
Boom, cough,cough,cough
I don't hate them, I just don't love them. No doubt outta the box they are bloody accurate.....but they are a bit of a Corolla (reliable but common).
I've beem close to being tempted but there's not a huge gap price wise between a tikka and a sako and why drive a Corolla when you can drive a Porsche....

I wouldn’t buy a .223 on a long action to begin with .
Tikka turn offs for me
One size fits all action

While I realise these are two things that keep the price competitive (well 5 years ago) their the two things I don’t like I’m not asking them to change it it is what it is but a .223 on a long action and a long action that’s mag handicaps loading the likes of the 300wm to 168-180gn with out eating powder space If somebody made a hinged floor plate I’d most certainly have another in the 6.5x55 .284 .270 case length realm or any of the wsms their light handle nicely and flat out shoot
They work and have smooth actions.
They are reliable and highly customisable if you want Bling or a different configuration. Good value and accurate.
I have several and only shot a few Sako, Not opposed to Sako but the Tikkas are doing all I need.
Sighted my new .308 one in in 3 shots this morning. Whats not to like!
I hate tikkas they are just darn boring and cheap enough to have one in every cal.
I wouldn't be that far behind buzzman and just about had one in each cal they all shot amazing and have shot way more big game then my fancy custom rifle's ever will
Im still not a fan of the factory stock even tho they work great

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

Yip they shoot all right@ Tahr @199p it’s up to you which rifle shoots more game neither one nor the other is going to do it better , customs come into their own with custom chamberings and over all weight I guess iv had 2 tikkas with bartleins to get the desired non factory chambering and they were/are incredibly accurate rifles one in 7blaser mag and one in 6.5 saum the blaser mag being the better of the two fit the mag perfect with 180gn pills seated just right . I don’t mind the stock on the t3x as far as factory stocks go
