    Hamilton/Waikato gun smith?

    Hi all,

I have just been given my first shotgun and I need to get the stock cut down quite a bit and my recoil pad fitted. I am not confident to do this myself and have not been able to track down anyone who can help. The local gunsmith everyone has recommended has just retired.
Does anyone have an experience in this area who I could pay to do it or know someone in the business?

    Appreciate it.

Ring Dave Gibson Locksmith and Guns Shop, Te Awamutu, understand he has a guy working for him.

Get a hold of Reloaders Supplies. The gunsmith they are using is top notch.

I second this - have had them do some work through their smith (not sure his name) and was really good. Great work, can be a bit on the med to high price range.

Try the above suggested gunsmiths first. If they can't help in time and you're really stuck then come back, tell us a bit more about the shotgun and recoil pad to be fitted, post a bit about yourself in the intro thread and I'm sure we could get it sorted for you. Speaking for myself I'm not really looking for extra jobs (got enough of my own projects waiting ) but I wouldn't stand by and let a new shooter miss opening weekend either. I've fitted a few recoil pads before.

Try the Stock Doktor Kevin Gaskill (kgaskill@value.net.nz). He doesn't do full stock builds any more but he might do 'minor' jobs like what you are wanting.

    Operates out of Chartwell.
