Can't get Trademe to accept my firearms licence number, so can't bid.
Anyone know the secret?

Pretty sure i had an issue with that and was because i was trying to do it on the app? Or perhaps it was due to the way i was enetering the credentials.

In the past people have had trouble because the name on the license has to match the name on the TradeMe account

Once you enter your fire arms licence on trade me does it save it and now trade me has your number.

I guess so, a mate wanted to ask a question about a gun on TM using my log on at my place.
He put his licence number in but TM refused to accept it, my guess is it was because they already had my number in their system from an enquiry I’d made in the past.

More likely because the name on his license didn’t match the name on your tm account

Its the name write it exactly as on your license its the order of the name i think doesn't match surname, first then middle

Its not the name on the license - all that matters is that the name entered when asking a question, matches that of the trademe account.
You can even put a bogus FA number. It just needs to be the right length, and the name entered when asking the question needs to match the trademe account.
They don't have a database of FA names and numbers.

5 weeks ago i had this issue buying a 243 changed my name entered from surname, middle first to surname first then middle and it worked so that's what worked for me my tm name "Mason" is my name as on license and never changed it so it worked for me just saying

It looks like they have changed their system. The last time I used it you entered your FAL number and that was all. Apparently their system sent a query to a police system that matched the number to FAL name and compared to TM account name and said yes or no (TM didn’t receive names or FAL numbers).
I had to change my name on my TM account from Chris to Christopher to be able to ask questions and bid.
