Help! Browning Blr timing- Taupo gunsmith

I've gone and got my BLR recrowned and threaded. Guncity sent it away to a gunsmith to get done and I made a point of how important the timing is.

I've picked it up as I rushed down to Taupo and didn't check the timing on the action.
It's not right. Lever isn't smooth and it's hitting the hammer.

Has anyone retimed them? Is there a Taupo gunsmith worth their salt?

Any help would be bloody good so I don't have to use it as a club this weekend!

    Cheers

You should be able to retime it easily but you need to cleanly remove the two pivoting pins of the lever and sprocket wheel.
Maybe Mark Bridgemont could give you a hand ?

yip its a fiddly business, took me a bout half an hour to get it right. with ours its a matter of wiggling lever into place then poking pin back in and retrying it over and again until happy with its placement then pushing pin back home.
I'm a techtard who isn't mechanically minded and managed it with 2 nails and a small hammer.
I have to be careful when reloading to push shoulder back quite a bit or it wont function properly. reworking lever a couple of times half in n out will get tricky round to chamber properly
trial and error ours seemed to only really have one spot that is right and any teeth either way was way out.

Bah! Had to just go for a walk.
Major disappointment to send to a gunsmith and for it not to be put together properly.

You can say that again. Bitches of things.
I'm sure Mark at Custom Cartridges will be able to help. He has seen one or two of them (even my old Miroku 308).
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Nah, everyone says that but they arent all that bad. Only hassle is getting the sprockets in the right place but I now have it down to a fine art

they are easy enough to do yourself. easiest way is magnetise the planetary gears etc and then insert them while stuck to the lever assembly. they will demagnetise themselves after a few shots have been fired

Arthur Cleland in Hamilton is usually pretty good. David Dwen used to be around up here, but not sure if he's about anymore.
