Factory triggers in general can be a little variable, some brands have some that are great and then you find one that just sucks. Rem X-mark poo triggers are just garbage, the smooth shiny blade is the worst aspect of that design - anything slippery on your finger and you slide all over it which is simply awesome for consistent let off. The earlier Rem Walker-type triggers are able to be made to be surprisingly good for a hunting trigger, but for a custom type setup I'd see what you can find in aftermarket options.
It for me is now a 'path of least resistance' deal, have a good look at what donor actions or rifles you can find and then look to see if you can find all the accessory bits you would like to use locally and at the price you want to pay. After a few laps back and forwards, you'll settle on what you have to use to get the combinations you need for bits for the build.
