Thread: Help leica 2000 b setup

Hey team, maybe just my sleep deprived brain but I need a local guru if possible, picked up a Leica 2000 b off a mate only he can't find the instructions.
I did a quick Google search and found the downloads but fook me I'm struggling to comprehend it all.
Also I couldn't find the ballistic compensation chart in the onlibe download.
Is there anyone based in either Chch or North Canterbury that could help me ?

@dannyb I can send you some screen shots of the manual, I'll send you ballistic charts through PM if it helps. Or you can give me your email which would be easier. Leica really made it a pain in the arse to setup, tried to get too fancy.

@7mmsaum I only ever use the EHr function, temp and pressure and ignore all the other stuff. Are you the same?

Not quite,

I use my binos for a .22rf, a.223, a 7mm08, a 308, two rem mags, a 338 and then any other rifle that I’m working on

I get all the data and input it into knights Armament “ BulletFlight” and then dial up the required MOA

Can then use any rifle and any distance without worry

If I only had one rifle (had a wee panic typing that) then yes Leicas own internal ballistic software would suit to 1000yrds, but 1500yrds would be better as 1000 is very common in Sika country, - and unfortunately so is the wind

The ballistic charts start way down the bottom, on page 178.

thanks I have printed the manual in larger font and yup found the ballistic charts too, I'll look at it post several coffees and will contact those that have offered help if still required.

Hmmm mm according to this the pre set ballistic curves are nowhere near what my 270wsm is capable of. Guess I'll have to stick to EHR and a dope chart (not the end of the world),or am I missing something ?

This.... had similar issues recently qith my 2700b, think i got there in the end. Just need to find somewhere to test it past the 200m zero

Yeah but even if I convert the inches to moa it's not close enough that I would use it

your trajectory would be between US1 and US 2 I think

Best thing is put a target at 500 yards and see which one of the two work best for your rifle and ammo. Retest at a further distance if necessary but you should be within 6 inches or better of what you are aiming for on the vertical plan.
