@Pengy Vortex Optics - VIP Warranty

I would take the Viper every time. Should be a class above the Leupy.

I've got another member of the Viper range, and very happy with it.

The Vortex BDC has had a good amount of thought put into it, too.

Only thing to beware of, at $396 you'll be cutting seriously close to the GST threshold. Any shift in the dollar could see you getting stung for more.

    Interesting.
I am not in the market for a scope, but have always thought that the Lupy warranty was the best out there so would be pretty likely to go with them on that basis alone. Don't they even cover the scope if it changes hands ?
Note to self. Read the link BEFORE replying . Fully transferable warranty on Vortex as well I see

Sure is, will be touch and go, even at $460 it's prob still alright.

Another vote for Vortex, I'm very happy with everything I have bought of there's,and while I'm a big Leopold fan the vortex just wins at price points

While I have only looked threw and used a grand total of 2 vortex(not mine) I wasn't very impressed after reading the hype about the quality of glass.
On the range one moved un predictably on its adjustments and both had for lack of a better term a "milky" picture compared to my vx6 and vx 3 on the day.

The two I looked threw would be a step down from a vx1 glass wise, cant argue with the price tho.

    Which model Vortex?
The first thread ever in this section is a quick review I did on a viper HS, Id rate it about Bushnell 4200/vx3 glass wise.It wouldn't have caught up with a VX6 but then its half the price.
I had a converstation with vortex CS a while back when the paralex turned out to be 50yds instead of 100, when I took the scope out of the rigs I found Id crushed it with the vertical split rings, just lazy really as the torque wrench was sitting on the table. When I told vortex it was my fault they just said no worries and sent me a brand new one in rapid time, not even a freight charge so I rate their warranty better than leupold.
I think the diamond back 4-12 for $280nz landed is one of the true scope bargins around today.

Customs work on a fixed exchange rate for a two week period. You can check it on their web site to make sure of your total.
