    Henry Long Ranger 223/243

Anyone have any experience with these.
I already have a 223 but set up with heavy scope etc so one of these in 223/243 would make a great walkabout wallaby gun if they are accurate

The photos I've seen look good and have poked about on the www for comments, opinions vary, some say trigger to heavy some say ok, some say blah blah blah, you know , usual shit.
So looking for personal experiences or if you know some one who has one, though at the price Broncos have them 2299$ it's a stretch, surely they are cheaper than this.

Not much help sorry as I have not fired one.
Your only two options are the Long Ranger or the BLR. I have the BLR and keep picking up the LR in every shop I see one in, but I'm not really warming to it. For one its noticeably heavier, it also has a much thinner hammer with no half cock function or the folding hammer which I like. Instead using a rebounding hammer. However because the trigger does not move with the lever it should have or be possable to get a much better trigger than the BLR. I think really it is six of one and half a dozen of another and will come down to personal taste. If I had owned a LR first and was used to that it would probably be my preference.
No option to have a takedown version either if that floats your boat.
Biggest trouble with both ( being really really picky ) is that the actions are for 308 length shells. A scaled down mini version not much bigger than a winchester 92 would be fantastic.

Cheers Tentman, I'm just looking at the moment, thought there man have been one or two on here.
Have read that they are quite heavy which would not really suit. might have to stick to the 30 30 if that's the case, though the added flat reach of the 243 would be handy.

Had a BLR Lightening @Got-ya, some time ago loved everything about it except the trigger seemed like it would never go off.

Yeah my trigger is OK, and for a hunting gun its fine but a target trigger it is not.

I would hope they are better than their shitty inaccurate .22 lever actions. Look great and shoot like shit, horrible things.

the 22 l/a even the "brass one" is nothing but pot metal that is softer than bar of palmolive ! same with the chiappa. i tried them both. the henry failed on accuracy the chiappa jammed solid on the 3rd or 4th round
    then i bought a blr 22

.............then i had to get it bastardised to 10 rounds due to komrade horseface

The LR is nothing like those, way better quality. Its just if you prefer the aesthetics of the BLR or the LR, I would not factor build quality into the choice.
