I shot this 10 shot group back in April 22, once I sorted a load for my Sako 233. 52gr Targex @ 100m at Handloaders range Chch. Off the bipod & rear stock bag, similar shooting speed to you. The red dot is moa size & the group is a little smaller. Must try it again but prone.

Maybe just snuck in? Caliper batteries are flat so hard to be certain. Pretty happy for a bog standard Howa 1500 in a much maligned Houge stock...

If it's @ 100m then MOA is 29mm, so you came in under. I might give this a go with a rifle or two next time I'm at a 100m range. Pistol club only goes to 40m.
I think I have a couple of rifles that might do it, whether I can or not is the biggest question.

I will try give it a crack next month.

Na, was at 100 yards.

Shot this 12 shot group at a measured 100m this morning .
I shot 4 x 3 shot groups and broke my shooting position each time to walk up to the target while letting the barrel cool down .
I’m reasonably happy with this result and I’m very aware that I’m the weakest link in this combo, the rifle can shoot much better than me .
With a better shooter I’m confident that the group size would shrink a least 5-10 mm .
So anyway, a 12 shot group ( not 10 ) , 6.5 CM ( not the .223 easy button ) and breaking position 3 times during the test .
If 29mm is moa at 100m then I feel that me and the rifle are only just by the skin of our teeth 1 moa shooters

@gimp Here’s my attempt Pete, managed to get to the range yesterday, have to say I was a bit nervous with the pressure to preform
Used some 10yr old reloads I found sitting at the back so wasn’t overly confident, rifle does tend to throw the first shot which is the one in the red, could I shoot a better group? Possibly if I had a better/higher magnification scope, could I shoot a worse group next time -definitely, might try it again with my 64gn Berger load or another rifle

R93, 223 with 60gn Vmax

How about a Video of a Ten Shot group , but standing up and picking up the Rifle between shots ( in other words totally breaking position between each shot ) .
I fairly confident you would do alright, but I feel the majority of the YouTube crowd would absolutely struggle.
I’m off hunting Chital Deer for the nest 7 days , but when I get back with my unused ammo I will try this new idea out and post the results ( no matter how embarrassing )

I dunno, most shooters at least lift their head, which is a position break of sorts. I find that the rear bag setting is the easiest thing to be inconsistent on, I notice quite a bit of vertical in many of my groups, something this challenge has gotten me working on.

Tonight I've just pulled the bolt on my Bergara to bits. Sure enough, the firing pin spring has both a tendency to "flex" at full cock, and way worse, both the final turns on the spring were over diameter. I've ground them down and now the firing pin assembly goes into the bolt body without any touching or binding (like it was before). Hopefully this is a significant step in reducing the ES that I feel is impacting the groups this rifle is producing.

A 10 shot group shot without changing anything other than bolt manipulation and the vague lifting of your head is a totally different thing from having to start from scratch for each and every shot .
Repositioning the Rifle / Your Body / Rear Bag / Natural Point of Aim etc etc .
I think that this exercise would be a real Hunter/ Rifleman test .

Anyway I’m going to try it
