    There is a lot of f**king around to make your own thumbhole stock for an AR.
    Key issues, weight, strength, ability to use the safety properly with your thumb, destroying the selector spring when removing a thumbhole grip with attached grip and making sure the stock screw doesn't extend too far into the end of the buffer tube.

    If you think you can do a better job than Spearmags, Guncity or another option, go ahead. There will be plenty of people keen to buy one from you, so some $ to be made.
