Hi everyone, with the new AR15 pistol grip law change in December I was wonder if you are allowed to make your own stock? And if you do, do you have to get it approved by the police? I have just noticed websites selling the new A-CAT stocks say they are “Police approved”.
I understand you are not allowed to just bolt a metal bar between the base of the pistol grip and the stock.
But can it be done, if it’s done properly, which my understanding is:
• The grip is connected to the stock at two points, one at the top and one from the base of the grip.
• The connection is permanently connected to the grip and stock (i.e. not removable).
Are there any other criteria it has to meet, like:
• The connection between the base of the grip and the stock must be a certain thickness?
• The connection point must take up a certain area of the stock?
• The connection must be made of a certain material?
