OK - I lie, it's a "K Hornet".
This rifle has been lurking "unloved" in my cabinet for at least 5 years - at fault, wouldn't reliably cock. These rifles reputedly break sear springs so I sourced a replacement (also at least 5 years ago) but again according to the interweb, are a real bear to replace.
Certain events by other forumites (@akaroa1 and others) prompted me to take a new look at it. I spent some time on the internet and eventually I found a reassembly hack that looked like it might work.
Pulled the rifle to bits to find the sear spring intact but the trigger out of adjustment, which what was preventing it from cocking. The reassembly hack worked a treat and made me wonder why I'd waited so long to tackle it.
Sunday at the range I placed a few rounds on paper using a load my notes show I'd half-aased developed in 2014, a 45gn Hornady over AR2205 (H110?) at 2820fps.
It's a sweet rifle to shoot, the trigger (now in adjustment) is superb. And wow did it reward me, only one group but it'll do me!
Footnote - after all that I farken missed a magpie right out in front of the shed at 35M. Bugger!
