You little banned beauty Dannyb. I unscrewed the pistol grip cap and had a decent look this time. And staring at me was an Allen capscrew with a 6mm internal hexagon. The odd thing is that the capscrew had been drilled and tapped down inside the hex socket to take the screw that holds on the pistol grip cap. So with my 'i know everything' mindset, I didn't recognise the capscrew because I've never seen one drilled like that... and I guess the hexagon wasn't that obvious in the relatively dim light and it possibly had a bit of oil or crud filling in the corners. Anyway.... thanks. It was very easy to pull the butt off... and there are some decent holes in the side of the action where I can squirt in some air and the appropriate fluids. Excellent. Thank you.
Now I want to find a mould that casts a bullet with a decent flat nose... and which works well in the Bergara. I have a Lee 358-158-RF mould that makes a lovely bullet, but it doesn't seem to group as consistently as another couple of projectiles I use. The bullet that I experience the best accuracy with is cast from my Lee 358-200-RF mould. But the meplat is a bit smaller than I'd like it to be.
