Here is some evidence. All groups shot at 108m, 308 was all hand load development, 6.5x55 was sako factory ammo. These are all the groups I shot today. I haven’t excluded any bad groups or only picked good ones. Pretty happy for factory barrels and actions.

Have a couple of tikas 308s,kill deer.On a good day,shoot factory ammo fine at a hundy.Deer dont notice the difference between small group sizes out to 200yds.Attachment 179291
I have had 5 tikkas
All shoot around the half inch group will quality ammunition and will no doubt do better with hand loads.
Think sako or hornady ammunition.
Lots of other brands but Ive never tried them.

Both my T3 rifles (6.5x55 and .223) shoot sub MoA with 6 and 10 power scopes respectively. Both have factory bedding and triggers as they came from the factory. 129 grain SST and 69 grain MK handloads again respectively.

On the whole, most modern factory rifles shoot pretty good these days, 1.5” or better. As an RO at a local range you tend to get a good look at most common things. Tikka do fine, as do howa’s, but from what I’ve observed there isn’t much in it. You see a lot of tikkas; most people driving them can’t shoot 1” groups, but I wouldn’t necessarily blame the rifle (same goes for howas or anything else for that matter).
Standout cheap rifles I’ve seen of late have been the Ruger Americans. Ugly as sin, pretty agricultural, but they seem to shoot something ridiculous.

Tikkas shoot pretty good alright I think for the price they are one of the best for value shooters around. My Ruger American is good too for the price.
I think what impressed me the most is no group went over an MOA and most were around the 1/2 to 3/4 MOA size. Including an 8 shot string which I though was pretty good.
