    How good is leupolds warranty?

So my wee runabout got pinched last night and taken for a joyride,

Unfortunately I had left a vx freedom in the glovebox the night before and they used it as a hammer to smash my stereo in and snapped it in half.

I know it's a long shot but does anyone think it's repairable? If it was vortex a new one would be on the way, but what's leupold like with these kind of situations?Name: 20240717_173234.jpg

You have got nothing to lose by trying a warranty claim - that's the only way to find out ...

You could give it a try but if they repair or replace it I would say it would only be because they feel sorry for you.
    Nothing to lose though.

at worst, it will only cost for the parts to fix it still cheaper than buying new

Unlikely fixable if Leupold is wanting a future without warranty claims
A more risk adverse action is for Leupold to just replace it

I'll give it a go, even if I have to pay for parts etc if it comes in at under my $400 excess it will be worth it.

They must know fuck all about fuck all cos the scope is worth more than the car they pinched and they left my jacket and jetboil in the boot and obviously didnt want the scope. They took my neighbors car too and smashed their carseat to bits for shits and giggles.

They joys of school holidays eh.

You might get some takers on TM if you advertise it as a ‘Takedown scope’!!

Yip will do. After the cops dropped me and my car back to temuka, they had a tip that the dickheads were spotted out your ways micky so keep an ear out.

They'd be pretty dumb to go out again tonight but something tells me they're pretty dumb.

Some may already be familiar with my Leupold story. I sent a VXIII illuminated reticle back for warranty after damage to the battery contacts. They sent it back fully repaired, no questions asked about diy repair attempt prior to sending.

In the same transaction I also sent a Vx1 1-4x20 that was in a really rough state, it looked like someone had tried to adjust windage using a hammer and chisel, the turret cap seals were herniated, and the view seemed a bit dark. I asked for it to be serviced and said I would be happy to pay accordingly for the work. Instead they sent back a brand new VX3 1.5-5x20 at no charge.

If I had to bet on what will happen, I would pick that you will get a new scope sent to you.

As I read this, Iam wondering if it would be covered by insurance rather than warranty? If you are already making a claim for the stereo in the car then surely other contents that were taken or damaged would be under the same excess.

As above, would say it's a Insurance claim not Leupold warranty.
