I waited 6 working days for my last one from the US to hit customs, it's been there since tuesday
if I get it this coming monday it will take exactly the same time to travel from Auckland to me as it does from Missouri, if I don't well....

Unless you buy one under 1000 AUD, and have a friend in Australia who's coming home soon.

There is ways around it but if you get caught doing it you can get in the poo.

So you buy from Aus and not the States? I have only looked at the states so far and I know you can be charged GST when an item is over $400nzd. Although some items are not susceptible to this GST.

it appears my scope has been sitting in "customs clearance" since november the 14th? with no movement since then, what is the cource of action when it hits a stop like this?

do you call them and rev them up?

Is it over 400nz? If it is you will get a letter in the mail informing you how much you have to pay or a broker for the postal service will ring you for a credit card payment. If its not over 400 then im picking you will get an update on your tracking either sometime today or tomorrow saying the customs processing is complete and it should be with you the next day. If its over 1000nz then you will get an email asking for your import code number thing. If you dont have one of these you will have to apply but its a one off thing and you file it away for next time. That process may take 3 days.
