Just a question, how many rounds do you think a 17hmr rifle will do before it starts to show the accuracy start to drop off?

Hey viper mate whose a professional rabbiters buys a 5000 round case of 17 ammo and a new barrel when rounds gone new barrel

If you don't get thru that many rounds it could just be copper fouling

do you mean barrel worn out, or needs cleaning. in my guns I always get less than suggested as I like accuracy. some would be happy with a inch at 100, I'm not.

I thought it would have been in the 10,000s, not the 1000s (if cleaned of copper every 1000 rounds).

Yeah there's just not enough heat to wear out the bbl in front of the chamber. High velocity yes...but how many grains of powder in that little case 5g?
I guess the barrel would outlive most 17hmr shooters.

Soon as the wind hits 5mph

4800 rounds so far, just had a big clean but will give it another and check rings, scope etc.
Certainly not performing at it's past best.

Hit it with some Sweets 7.62...those little pills are sure to leave a copper trail.
